I used a clog pruf this morning and started thinking about something during the shave. Is there a more versatile SE then these razors. I would say the original is at the top of the pile but any of the models count. They can use standard SE blades or injector blades. They can also tackle any growth thrown at them. If it is one day or a week it is gone with no fuss. Add to that how they are built like a tank and you have a solid performing razor that can be had for very little.
Any more thoughts on these?

And you don't have to murder any defenseless vintage razor to get the shave.

I am always struck by how smooth and solid-feeling the TTO mechanism is on these razors versus others (thinking specifically of unmentionables). And while I like the later two models just fine, the "original" Micromatic will always be my favorite -- it was my first GEM-style SE razor (my very first SE was a Schick E3).

VC1, 1912, and many other basic SE razors are just as perfect for their intended purpose, but I understand your sentiment.

I didn't know injector blades would fit. I have me a Clog Pruf and some Schick twin blades - a combination that has some favourable reviews on another *cough* forum. One to add to my list.

Correct me if I don't understand exactly, but you aren't referring to using a twin blade in the MMCP are you? I am unsure how exactly that would work unless there was all sorts of sacrilege going on with shims and adapters etc...

I bought a Clog-pruf at a garage sale recently that has 17 teeth. My other Clog-pruf, and all the others I've ever seen have only 12 teeth. Seems to shave the same though.

Congrats, I believe you have what was called a "Peerless" model Clog-Pruf. If I'm remembering my history correctly, it came after the "original" Clog-Pruf. The Peerless strikes me as a bit more rare -- probably had a shorter production run before the Micromatic Flying Wing (with Guiding Eye) made it on the scene. I don't have one in my den, but not for lack of trying....I spent TOO many hours pouring over auction pictures of Clog-Pruf's and counting teeth . But as you and others have pointed out, both Clog-Pruf versions deliver the same excellent shave, so I discontinued the hunt.....for now.
