So I've had this Gem Junior since probably March or April of 2019 I guess. Just shaved with it, never tried to spiff it up. It had some tarnesh and spots. Didn't really bother me, but after seeing some of the clean machines in here I decided to at least take a little shot at cleaning it up a bit. I'd say the results are not half bad. First I took some polishing compound and while that worked well on the broad flat areas, it was a pain to really do justice on the harder to reach areas. I decided to rely on chemistry. Squirted a healthy amount of Barkeepers Friend into a small glass bowl, ran in some hot water, mixed it well and then let the razor sit in it for about 15 minutes, occasionally turning the razor around or swishing the mixture. You can see the results here. BeforeAfter

Big difference, much improved. The only thing beyond that would be to use power tools and wool polishing wheels with polishing compounds to remove imperfections like scratches from day to day use. That's an all brass Junior with no plating, those are about as easy at it gets to restore to like new condition.

That is a nice job, but I'm in the other side of the fence. I like em a bit grungy and we'll used.

Veddy nice! On the rare occasion that I clean a brass razor I just use brasso. I agree it can be tough to get at some areas.

Tooth brushes with either tooth paste or polish and cotton swabs can help get into the books and crannies clr is also awesome probably the same as bar keepers friend I assume

Pipe cleaners are good for difficult to reach parts as well (Especially good for injectors)

I keep some really small "bottle brushes" around for those difficult spots. This is an internet image.
