Today I used the gem bar for the first time. I'll be honest it was tough. The angle was different than I'm used to. Still got a good shave. I did Nick myself on the mustache area due to user error. But not bad. No irritation damn fine plus. The soap was Indian old spice, old spice aftershave, crown king synthetic brush. New CVS gem blade. PS I found that my modern unmentionable (Fred was here) stand for almost perfectly. www.flickr.com/photos/187068272@N03/49689131817/in/album-72157713586536878/

23/03/2020 Pre: Sainsbury's Luxury Soap, Bergamot & Nectarine Brush: Razorock 400 Plissoft Synth Soap: Gentleman's Face Care Club Peppermint Razor: Schick Amber Handle E3 1935-45 Blade: PAL (4) Post shave: Alum Block, cold water splash, Homemade Bay Rum Astringent Balm: Floïd Balm Aftershave: Floïd SE Mentolado Vigaroso A very easy shave today for a crackin' result. Peppermint is still not my favourite scent, however, it makes a change, for the price the GFCC cream is pretty good although it does leave a residue on everything it touches. Stay safe All and enjoy your day.

A mostly British GEMonday was in the cards for me today. I say "mostly" since my brush was Chinese (Yaqi Moka Express 24mm Mew Brown knot) and post shave was American (Thayers Rose Witch Hazel). An incredible 3-pass shave that could have easily been 1 pass and a touch-up (seriously), but I wanted to use up some of the excellent Cyrill R Salter rose lather -- my thanks to a very thoughtful and generous friend (you know who you are!) for sending me this sample. Whether unmentionable or SE, I find it hard not to love the British made razors....this particular one is well made with a stunning "peerless" handle and came in what I believe was it's original Ever-Ready bakelite case (which is also in perfect working order).

Today I used the crown king synthetic brush, Shannon soaps Haymarket, paa twee aftershave, gem bar, and CVS blade 2nd use. Good shave. Still getting used to the razor. Got myself just a bit under the nose again. But not bad at all. Honestly I may end up preferring the kamp star razor. But I can 100% use this one. Its just I find the angle more natural on the kampf. By the way the soap and aftershave both samples. Shannon is very generous with her soap samples I've had them for years and haven't used them up. www.flickr.com/photos/187068272@N03/49691936598/in/album-72157713601080071/

24/03/2020 Pre: Shower Brush: Jayaruh #355 Soap: Proraso Green Razor: Rocnel SE-P 316 , Blackland Unmentionable Handle Blade: Perma-sharp SE (2) Post shave: Alum Block, cold water splash, Thayers Witch Hazel Balm: Proraso Green Aftershave: Proraso Green Another very nice comfortable shave with the MDFRITW Rocnel SE-P, he was called ugly earlier in the week on another forum, therefore, i decided to try and make him a bit more eye catching by adding the Blackland unmentionable Handle. He will be back to normal on the next shave even though it worked really well and he suits his new boots. At the end of the day he doesn't half deliver. 3 passes for a BBS comfortable shave. A nice face Lather with the Jayaruh #355 and pro green (the soap label was swapped to a re used super-drug AS 100ml bottle to decant the large bottle into as and when i need it). Stay safe All and enjoy your day

I will be shaving late today but wanted to mention that today is the anniversary of the patent of the Ever-Ready 1914. So I will be using the Wonderful Ever-Ready 1914 AKA Little lather catcher today.
Who else will join me in celebrating these beautiful razors?
