Last Wednesday, I got really sick and had much pain in my lower left abdomen. It subsided, but today. it returned with a vengeance. I was talked into a trip to the ER. So the wife called 911 and got the ambo here. I spent about three hours there. I had a cat scan and blood in my urine. The doc said i indeed had a kidney stone on the move. It is about 5mm. So, I got me a shot of morphine and a script for oxy and sent home. I am glad to be here and know what is going on. I had a stone back in the 10s. It is what God gives to men so they can know what women go through in childbirth.
The folks at the ER were super. Everyone was wearing masks and gloves, and they were cleaning up after everything. I thanked everyone for their service. God bless them all. I really didn't want to go, but I am glad I did. Hopefully this stone will pass soon. I will be following up with a urologist next week.

Well that sux. Get well soon.
Ask if you get the type of stones that acid dissolves. If so, then just start and continue taking Vit C tablets.

It is what God gives to men so they can know what women go through in childbirth. When a med' professional asks me what the pain is like I respond similarly. But my response goes something like this and it works better with a female doing the questioning,"Well, you know the pain of childbirth? (choose one) About like that, or not quite as bad as that." . Then I start to smile and they get it too. Just for the record I have never been female or pregnant and that's the whole point.

Been thinking about this... Jay' if you find an herbalist get some UVA URSI from them and start taking it. It tastes horrible (bitter), but it's not taken for taste. It's one of the very best things anyone can do for their urinary tract. OK, story time...
Years ago a coworker was with family down at Disneyworld and had a kidney stone pain attack. He started with the Uva Ursi for no pain, and the next morning was draining his bladder first thing and heard a "tink" in the bowl. He passed the stone w/o pain, and didn't even know what was happening until he heard and saw it in the bowl.

I have nothing to gauge it by since I have no need for it. But you'll never hear about it from Drs. Medical schools were set up by big pharma and teach that exclusively. Some Drs learn of it after graduation, but I have yet to have one that will suggest herbal therapies to me. But I have had some that will allow for it, that is, their minds aren't closed to it when I inform them. I've also had the other sort, those who without thinking state,"Oh, that doesn't work.", or some variation of that. Like the vitamin C "cure"... If the stone is of a certain type (basic) it can be dissolved by an acid. Vitamin C is ascorbic acid and is extremely safe in any quantity one could ever consume in a day. It's a water vitamin and comes out through the kidneys. So it washes over the stones and dissolves them over time, plus acsorbic acid is cheap bought in bulk so there's no $ for big pharma to make. What Dr will tell you that over selling a drug or putting someone in the hospital? I have nothing against Drs, but they can only do what they've been taught and is accepted medical practice or they can get sued.
What I'm writing is that you will never hear about it from a Dr or the medical establishment. Big pharma controls the dialog and there's no money to be made from an herbal that anyone can grow or go out and pick growing in the wild. Look up Wild Lettuce, youtube has videos about it. The FDA would love to ban it and thought about doing so but they can't since it grows everywhere and they'd need to torch the planet and then hope no seeds survived. I's an excellent pain killer with no side effects. I have no idea how many Drs even know of it.
I could go on and on.

I had one last Sept. I think it actually started on memorial day. I think I passed part of it or another then. They didn't diagnose it right and treated be for a uti, but kept having microscopic blood in urine so got a CT scan. Sure enough. 8x15mm, so way to big to pass, so they had to break it up with lithotripsy. It worked well, but not a fan of the stent. I'm hoping yours goes out naturally. Ain't no fun though. I never had pain like you describe. Only got a few pain meds for after the lithotripsy. Did have one day it sat me down on the couch in the cold sweats for about an hour, but not the pain that so many describe.
I was due for my follow up x-ray and was going to skip it, but in the last couple of weeks I've had a couple episodes of the dull back ache where the stone was last time. Hoping its not. Spoke with the urologist's nurse and we're going to give it a couple of weeks and then if symptoms persist probably do the x-ray. Otherwise, with all the Covid stuff, I don't want to see them and they don't want to see me.
