Thursday's ShaveCold Water Rinse Musgo Real Shaving Soap Jayaruh #401 Pal Injecto-matic Personna CWR Mennen Skin Bracer The Musgo Real Shaving Soap face-lathered well with Jayaruh #401 brush. Two passes and touch ups with the black handle Pal Injecto-matic with a Personna blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. This black handled Injecto-matic is a bit more aggressive than my ivory handled one. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Mennen Skin Bracer AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

4/9/20 Thursday Late afternoon
Clog Pruf, 12 tooth chrome Treet carbon blade VDH natural boar brush Colonel Conk Amber soap T.N. Dickinson’s witch hazel
Was going through some items I had stashed away a couple of years ago and came up with a puck of CC Amber, CC Bay Rum, and a 5 pack of Treet carbon blades. I had shrink wrapped the amber so it has retains most of its spicy scent. I haven’t used an amber scented soap or cream for quite some time and it is just as nice as I remember. I never was a big fan of CC and did not use it much but more and more I am realizing it gives a great shave for the money. Real happy with its performance today. I think I may pick up some of the Almond. The Treets were from a batch I purchased many, many, moons ago when they were of good quality and plentiful on-line. The last time I checked they were hard to find and most reviews said they had rust issues right out of the box. I’ll use this pack up and then go back to Pellas until I can find more carbons. VDH brushes are either terrible or great. I’ve had my share of both. This one is terrific. I’ve been using it and a Semogue for the last year. I like the VDH just as much as the Semogue. Of all the Witch Hazels out there I seem to prefer the Dickinson’s. Probably because it’s what people my age grew up with (of course none of you young folks would know about that). Anyway, nice clean shave today.

Anyway, nice clean shave today. Col Conk Bay Rum was my first shave soap I bought when I swapped over to wet shaving. I enjoyed it and used it for over a year until I started reading the online forums and began venturing out to see what else is out there. It worked well for me without ever watching a video of proper lathering. Now I know I was using way too much water in my brush back then. That puck still sits in my drawer with the ring of death still waiting for me to finish it off. I will probably buy another basically just because it works and I really enjoy the scent. I have used Thayer's, TN Dickinson's and the Equate WalMart witch hazel. The Equate says "compare to TN Dickinson's" but I can tell a difference. So, I am using TN Dickinson's now. Good stuff and I use it after every shave. My skin just feels better when I do.

10/04/20 Pre: Sainsbury's Luxury Soap, Bergamot & Nectarine Brush: Jayaruh #291 Tuxedo Knot Soap: OSP Neroli Razor: Colonial General V2 Stainless Blade: Feather PB (3) Post shave: Alum Block, cold water splash, Homemade Astringent Balm: Tonyschin's Neroli infused Argan Oil Aftershave: Vintage 4711 & OSP Neroli After yesterdays wonderful shave where the longevity has surpassed anything i have had for a while, although, i did shave a bit earlier than usual. The OSP Neroli is one of my favourites, i know its not everyone's "cup o' tea", however, i sets something off for me, don't ask me what that is? i am sure it will come to me one day. Only 2 Passes WTG & ATG required for a BBS result today. I enjoy using the General paired with a Feather Pro as it makes the shave so easy . A nice post shave enhanced with some Vintage 4711 EDT (not sure how old it is, but it looks the part) which i bagged from that well known auction site for buttons. I opened the small bottle from the soap set, it seems to start off pretty "sharp" and then mellows to the normal scent i am used to. All very nice, back to work this PM for a hour or so (1st bank Holiday i have worked in an age - i would not normally do it, however, needs must with this C-19 and the school has stopped open - Off next week). Stay safe and enjoy the rest of your day All.

11/04/20 Pre: 1912 Citrus Musk Brush: Simpson Chubby 2 Soap: 1912 Citrus Musk Razor: Occam Classic V1 plate #2 Blade: Chinese unbranded AC (1 & out) Post shave: Alum Block, cold water splash, Homemade Witch Hazel Balm: Bart's Balm Lime Balm & Lotion Aftershave: 1912 Citrus Musk 1st and last time for the unbranded Chinese AC blade ( i got them with a Chinese AC razor) not the best blade i have used, therefore not to be used again. Shame really as i had not used the Occam's for a while, it will get another run out soon. The 1912 Citrus is very similar in scent traits as the OSP Neroli, so i really like it. I ended up with a DFS+ finish and nothing from the block, although it was not the most comfortable shave i have had as the blade seemed to struggle from the off. A nice post shave routine saving the shave. Stay safe & Enjoy the weekend All
