Looks real good Andrew, you did get a deal. Makes me think I may need to get another Auto Strop. Hard to find quality like that today. The case looks good also.

It is pictured as it arrived to me today, so I still need to give it a good cleaning. But overall, it is already in great shape. I have other AutoStrops, but this is my first B1. I really wanted it in large part because it is a WW1 era razor and they were issued to some soldiers. I also saw an old advertisement with the Captain of the Lusitania promoting the B1 model. I also expect it to be a great shaver like my B2 so that is a bonus! Heck, this razor made it through the Spanish Flu, so COVID-19 should be no problem!

Yep, that’s one of the reasons I like the vintage stuff. You can sit and wonder what it’s seen and existed through, who had it, what he did, how it ended up with me. Back to the Auto Strop though, for some reason I thought they were made in Boston. Were they always made in New YorK?

I'd have to research.

Another beauty! The 1914 is one of my very favorites. Looks like you're on a roll Andrew.

Blade bargains today.
I think I did OK with 5 magazines of 2 Vintage Schick Twin injector blades for $10 shipped. That's an OK price for excellent blades.
Then I checked what else the seller had to sell. 3 magazines of 7 Personna 74 Tungsten injector blades. I've seen more hen's teeth on eBay than Personna 74s and last time I paid over $3 per blade. I won the 21 blades for $20 shipped to my door. That's just under $1 per blade. I call that a result and a bargain! My maximum bid was more than twice what I paid. It was an easy win.
21 Tungsten blades should give me at least 300 shaves. One of them lasted me for 24 shaves, average seems to be 15 shaves.
They don't make blades like those anymore.
Do I sound thrilled? I am.

You are right though, they definitely do not make blades like they used too. I tell folks about how many shaves you could get from blades or how smooth they were back in the day and they really don't believe me. Heck, now a days most folks have never heard of single edge shaving blades. They actually think SE blades are a recent invention to service box cutters. Oh, by the way, I see your eye still works!

It's the cheapest by far for years. The seller made the big mistake to post to the UK only, so all you connoisseurs from the US wouldn't even have seen the auction. I just had to outbid a forum member from across the pond who bid on them because he was lockdown-bored - so he claims. I had surgery on both eyes a few years ago. They both work just fine. Wink.
