04/05/20 Pre: Hot shower Brush: Simpson Chubby 2 Synth Soap: D. R. Harris Arlington Razor: Occam's Classic V1 plate #2 Blade: Feather PB (2) Post shave: Cold water splash, Witch Hazel Balm: Bart's Balm Bergamot and Vanilla Balm & Lotion Aftershave: Copycat Just Neroli Strange looking but it just works so well. I completed 3 passes for an easy BBS finish, i could have got away with 2 passes and a bit buffing but had the lather so - hey ho. No too close but close to too close, if you know what i mean. I used the alum today and got some indication which disappeared quickly. A very nice post shave sorting everything out. Feeling and smelling tip top. Stay Safe and enjoy your Day

Menthol Monday's ShaveCold Water Rinse C.O. Bigelow Shave Cream Burma Shave Boar Schick L1 Injector Personna CWR Osage Rub The C.O. Bigelow Shave Cream face-lathered well with my Burma Shave Boar Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Schick L1 Injector with a Personna blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. Today was a GeMonday with my second comparison shave with the 1st and 2nd generation Gem Featherweights. This time a first use Meijer branded SS blade was used. First up was the 2nd Gen. on the left side neck and cheek above the beard line. 1 pass WTG and 1 pass ATG The blade was then switched to the 1st Gen. For the right side. Same procedure. The 1st pass on the right side was nearly as close as the 2 passes on the right. While shaving on the first pass I didn't really notice a difference in the feal of the shaves. The second pass ( ATG ) did have a little more blade feel but not at all in a bad way. Final result was definitely visually cleaner and felt smoother on the right ( 1st Gen. ) side. After evaluation of the shave I did a cleanup pass with a Gem Junior I was evaluating before sending to a friend. Finally I shaved the back of my neck with the 1st Gen Featherweight. Even with sunburn on the back of my neck the shave was smooth and comfortable. In conclusion both the 1st and 2nd Gen Featherweights are great razors. However if I could only have one it would definitely be a 1st Gen Featherweight Deluxe.

May the 4th....be with you! For me the light-saber of choice was a 1907'ish GEM Junior (pre-bar model) with a friends handle, Meissner Tremonia Dark Limes soap, and an Elite Razor's Badger in a real stone (Lapis Lazuli) handle. While this model is a decent shaver (I got a nice DFS in 3-passes), my favorite part of this shave was the handle. I prefer slightly longer handles, this particular one actually makes me rethink my need for length. The tapered neck and slender-pear-shaped body makes going Against-the-Grain (South to North) feel both safe and effortless. Most handles are easily held for North to South and East to West (and vice versa) passes, but can feel awkward and almost unstable when you try flipping the razor upside down for the South-North ATG passes; but this handle was comfortable on every stroke and in any direction.

Williams Wednesday's ShaveCold Water Rinse Williams Mug Soap Burma Shave Boar Schick L1 Injector Personna CWR Aqua Velva Ice Blue AS Today's shave was done outside by request. I used tools I would have used for an outside shave in Vietnam back in 1968. The Williams Mug Soap face-lathered well with my Burma Shave Boar Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Schick L1 Injector with a Personna blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Aqua Velva Ice Blue AS.
