For those of you not using a "themed week" razor: we'd still like to hear about your daily shave!

Monday 10/1
Razor: GEM Jr 1912 Blade: GEM stainless Brush: TGN synthetic Lather: L'Occitane Cade soap
Post: Alum, Lucido, Clarins AS Soother
Result: Close, but a bit harsh shave. End result is mostly BBS, but the alum stung. I switched from a very mild razor I'd used for several days to the 1912. I think I kept too much pressure and paid the (small) price. Tomorrow is another chance for the perfect shave!

Greetings Tuesday 3rd September 2012 Prep: Shower Razor: ER 1912 Blade: GEM Stainless Coated Brush: Vie Long 13061M Horse Soap: Fume Lavender Aftershave: RSC Balm Not the most perfect shave, BBS finish but a little tenderness under the neck, this razor for some reason today felt a bit 'harsh' I am unable to put my finger on exactly why, although I did use a new blade. Regards Dick.

Tuesday, 2 October
Gem MMCP Gem SS/PFTE Blade (3) Made-Rite 500PB Brush Arko Shave Stick Peraja Lemon Cologne
This blade has seemed dull and rough since the start. I tossed it after the shave today and will put in a fresh blade tomorrow morning. As someone once so aptly put it, life's too short for dull blades.

Dick that EverReady 1912 is cool as hell !
I didn't realize they made some with blade covers like yours,I assume it's the British Made version ?
I really like that,I'm going to have to find one of those someday.

Greetings
Yes it is a British Model I picked it up off E-bay for £5.00 delivered. To be fair I don't think it's really worth anything but it is interesting as it's the only one like it I have seen.
It would be interesting to know how many different 1912's were made, I suspect dozens, all with tiny cosmetic differences, especially different handles.
This I would assume is a later model as it is chrome plated, 99% of 1912's seen this side of the pond are nickel plated, I think the same is true in the states.
Regards Dick.

Gem MMCP Gem SS/PFTE Blade (1) Made-Rite 500PB Brush KMF Cool Mint Cream Pinaud Clubman
The shave this morning was much smoother with the new blade. I get a few duds once in a while like the one I had been using for the past several days.

Personna injector Shick blade Barbasol original Afta
The razor belonged to my dad, and this week I'm celebrating what would have been his birthday. He used Barbasol before switching to an electric shaver, but he was always an Afta man.
Have a great day, everyone!

Greetings Thursday 4th October 2012 Prep: Shower Razor: Schick E Type Blade: Schick Stainless Brush: Lijun Boar Soap: Arko Squeezed into a container Aftershave: Wilkinson Sensitive Balm My first shave with a Schick Type E injector, what a surprise, this little razor looks like an innocuous prop for a scene in a dolls house; how wrong could I be. I found this razor really quite aggressive, much more so than my type I which is the only other Schick I own. It gave me an incredibly close shave but with three tiny weepers caused by me using too much pressure and not giving the razor the respect it seems to deserve. I shall be aware next time and I expect a perfect shave without any weepers. The razor came to me with the cassette of Schick blades in the photo, I know nothing about them, they are almost certainly stainless and seem fairly modern, there is no mention of any coating or where they were made, they shave ok but seem a little 'draggy' compared with the only other one's I have tried, the Personna Stainless PTFE coated. Can anybody shed any light on them? Regards Dick.

- Prep: Hot Shower & Towel
- Brush: ER 300 refurb with TGN Silvertip Knot
- Cream: Trumper's Spanish Leather
- Razor: '06 Elite GEM Jr Lathercatcher
- Blade: Ted Pella PTFE coated GEM SE (shave 5)
- A/S: Thayer's Rose Petal Witch Hazel Toner
- EDT: Royall Muske EDT
- Result: BBS no doubt with the Elite GEM Jr. First time for the Spanish Leather Cream. Great cream, not too strong musk scent, nice slickness & cushion. Speaking of the blade I thought it was a bit aggressive on my first pass so I took a look at the blade and razor, what do you know the blade was a bit crooked in the razor. Once I got the blade positioned correctly the shave was marvelous.

Once I knew what to expect I really liked the razor. The shaves are incredible.
