This thread needs to be pinned to the top of the Forum. Great reference for sure. Thanks Rocketman.

I know it's just a guide, but I'd still like to know why L types are called L types when all of the 'L' types I've had have a date code stamped on the head with an M and never an L.

"The Table below is a guide based on my own research and collection, and the "Types" are not company designations but ones I have made to classify different products that often went by the same trade name." Which answers that. They are Applebys' own designations, a guide to trying to make sense. It's up to us , the few, the clean shaven injector lovers of the world to step up to the plate and document what we've got by jove!!! So take pictures of anything you have with a description. Razors, blades, boxes, cases, advertisements, etc. .

Yeah these are definitely designations he chose. They have worked out pretty good on the boards but really anything goes.

This is very curious, and very disappointing. Safetyrazors.net is kinda razor royalty in my eyes. I hope all is well. The images of the Appleby Schick identification system have been kept there since Alan's site, a Canadian btw, stopped hosting around ten years ago now.
Time for a little snooping. If anybody has some info please post. I still have the images of the Schick page and could look at editing the page to host the images here. It is an important resource.

Thanks Rocketman for pointing this out, and Riverrun for the links. We definitely need to gather all the precious info and save it here before it goes lost. That is THE Schick resource!

The information is also available in Waits' Safety Razor Compendium, but that's not a free resource...
