That is cool, you dont see a bottle like that every day!! I see the no fun Qatarians left out the part about your Grandfather I also noticed the expiry date...my Canadian bottle does not have that. The ingredient list is slightly different too.

That is a humongous bottle of OS!! Yowser!!!! Very cool! You could cover a lot of ground with that much cologne.
There are certainly less ingredients in the Canuck version.

I bet there aren't fewer ingredients. They're just covered by the words "fragrance/parfum". The Qataran label has each and every EO spelled out.
So how does modern OS compare to the stuff of 40 years ago? I'm nursing the last few shakes of mine from then. Every few years I use a bit.

The new stuff definitely smells different than the older stuff, but I still like it. It seems every era of OS has a distinct scent, but I don't know how much of that is due to age or ingredients changes over the decades.

That's pretty nice Tom. I've been trying many types of after shaves the last 5 years but always seem to come back to Old Spice and a few other of the "basics".

Old Spice is pretty much my go to as well, Alan. I have a ton of vintage Avon that i like, but OS is still the king!

You know when I come to think of it I miss my Old Spice. Got away from it when I got back to traditional wet shaving because of the "sting" from getting such a close shave. Now that my technique has gotten better I think I could tolerate it. Might have just a bit of it left in the last bottle I have sitting on a shelf in the bathroom. Think I will get it out and splash some on and get the wife's hormones going. Who know, might get lucky this evening.

Awhile back I bought some close out old spice from BullGoose. It was "Shultons" and made in India. Folks on other boards say it smells more like vintage old spice than the original. Cost $14 instead of peanuts like the Wmart modern kind. But I really go like the smell more. It's also more soothing on my face, which is after all, the purpose of AS. Just as important though, the wife likes it!
Anybody else try Shulton's Old Spice??

Just borrowed this from another page for your consideration:
Four spice aftershaves (three Old Spice variations and Vijon Spice) were analyzed via headspace-gas chromatography. These aftershaves were compared for similarities across the entire chromatogram. Based on overall similarity, it is concluded that currently produced Shulton Old Spice (a product of India) and vintage Shulton Old Spice are essentially identical. Currently produced P & G Old Spice and Vijon Spice are very similar to each other but differ from the other two.
