Greetings Saturday 5th January 2012 Prep: Shower Razor: Valet Autostrop Blade: Feather SE Brush: Semogue 620 Boar Soap: Speick grated into a container Aftershave: Floid Balm First use of the Semogue 620 and all my initial feelings are that it will become (when properly broken) the best face lathering brush in my 'arsenal' for hard soaps, which is precisely what I purchased it for as I rarely bowl lather. Yesterday I gave it half a dozen palm latherings and dried it with my daughters hairdryer on medium heat only after each one. This has certainly kick started the break in process and many hairs have already split. Regards Dick

Second great shave in a row with MdC. I find myself opening the jar and sniffing it whenever I'm passing by the bathroom. I feel a bit silly that I'm considering using this exclusively until it's gone after only 2 uses. I do plan on using it until the desire to use something else creeps in. When that will be I have no idea. Stay tuned to find out with me.

Gem OCMM Gem SS/PFTE Blade (14) Made-Rite 500PB Brush Arko Shave Stick Pereja Lemon Cologne
Today is the last shave on this blade since I've gotten into the habit of switching them out every other Sunday. I think I could still get a couple of decent shaves out of this blade even after using it fourteen times. I got a fine shave from it this morning.

Gem Contour Gem CS (Duridium?) Blade (1) Made-Rite 500PB Brush Arko Shave Stick Family Dollar (Vi-Jon) Spice AS
I'm starting out this week with a Gem CS blade - the mystery blade offered by Sargon at his shop. I'm still convinced that this is a recent incarnation of ASR's "Duridium process" blade that was popular during the '50s. I got a very acceptable shave from it this morning loaded in the Contour. The theme for our monthly "themed shave" starting tomorrow will be CS blades and I'm getting a head start on it. I'll use one of the mystery blades in all of my razors utilizing the Slim-V frame (FW, HFT, and Contour) and I'll use a Gem Blue Star in the others. If I'm feeling particularly brave, I might even break out one of the vintage Micromatic blades that I have although based on the experience of others, I won't be expecting much at all from those.

I planned on getting some Stetson at Walmart during XMASS but forgot all about it. Alan Stetson used to be one of my all time favorites but I haven't used it in quite some time. I'll have to break it out sometime soon.

Yes, I really like Stetson. Every year I get Stetson cologne for XMASS, but unfortunately for me I can only wear AS, as I cannot wear cologne where I work. I got a nice glass bottle of the cologne this year that I will be sending down to the southern hutch where it will be put to good use.

Same here,a new blade every other Sunday I don't throw them out,I also put the "new" old blade in my MMOC.It's the razor I leave in the drawer for any touch up or trim around the goatee work in between shaves.
