Congrats beisler. I didn't have the angle down immediately so it wasn't love at first shave. Now that I'm getting better with it though it seriously contends with my long time favorite the OCMM.

It's an interesting thread, but the gist I got from it was that there's little difference in the shave between old and new. As a non-collector that's what matters most to me. If I had a choice it would be the old design though.

I have never really had a satisfactory shave from a streamline/jewel myself. I seem to be in a pretty rarified crowd though - perhaps I should take one out for a spin again.
Great to hear others enjoying these beautiful razors.

Settles that. Streamline, 1-18-13, we have a date.

If I had a choice it would be the old design though. Old design:The larger drain openings underneath are a plus and I believe the were fewer "teeth" with with slightly larger gaps between them which I also see as good.I seem to rinse my later model Streamline fairly often throughout the shave.I would think the older model would have better "flow through" of lather & whiskers. I like the larger diameter neck of the newer Streamlines (Never owned or shaved with the earlier model)

I like the larger diameter neck of the newer Streamlines (Never owned or shaved with the earlier model) Yes, I'd completely agree with this logic. I only have the "newer" Streamline with the smaller lather gaps, gaps around the teeth, and more teeth in the comb. I also like the thicker neck to the handle. If I ever procure one of the "older" Streamlines then I'd like to try putting the "newer" handle on the "older" head if they are interchangeable which I would certainly expect that they are.
