As our theme for the first full week of March, we're to have a salute to the UK. Now is the time for you to use your British razors, brushes, soaps, creams...in short, any shaving gear from the UK!

Greetings Monday 4th March 2013 Prep: Shower Razor: Valet Autostrop (British Model) Blade: Feather SE Brush: Vulfix 404 Mixed Cream: RSC Aftershave: RSC Balm Ultra close shave with the first use of this Feather blade. Unfortunately not a 100% British shave as I had to use a Japanese blade. There is actually a British company in Sheffield making SE blades, Jewel, but they are industrial only. I have tried one and it is not possible to shave with them (and keep your face) Regards Dick

Greetings Tuesday 5th March 2013 Prep: Shower Razor: Valet Autostrop (British) Blade: Feather SE Brush: Vulfix 406 Boar Soap: Erasmic Aftershave: Simple Balm Superb shave, a different Valet razor this morning, this model is quite gentle to shave with; I shall try the Feather blade for a third shave tomorrow but I fear that in reality it is finished! All British products apart from the feather blade. I was very disappointed to find out that Palmolive (both cream and soap) is made in Germany and Erasmic cream does not say on the label where it is made, a sure sign it is somewhere other than Britain. Regards Dick.

Greetings
Wednesday 6th March 2013 Prep: Shower Razor: Valet Autostrop (British) Blade: Feather SE Brush: Vulfix 404 Mixed Cream: T.O.B.S. Mr Taylor's Aftershave: Simple Balm
A moderate shave only, comfortable but not close, three shaves is for me, one too many for the Feather SE blades, one reason I do not use the Valet razors more often.
To quote the old saying; "this blade is so dull you could ride bare arsed to London on it!"
All UK products other than the blade.
Regards Dick.

I have been slacking on the SOTD this week. Happens that way sometimes when things get busy around here.
Adjustable Schick ASR blade ER200/TGN Silvertip TOBS Rose cream Thayers Rose witch hazel English Leather AS
OK so the English Leather is not really a UK product. Still works great. The TOBS is an outstanding cream. One of my favorites. A great Comfortable shave.

Greetings Thursday 7th March 2013 Prep: Shower Razor: Ever Ready Heavy Flat Top Blade: GEM Blue Star Carbon Brush: Vulfix 404 Mixed Cream: Body Shop Macca Root Aftershave: Simple Balm A perfect shave both in terms of closeness and comfort, My initial negative comments about these carbon blades I unreservedly withdraw, they do feel different, but I am now sure that it only because PTFE coated blades 'slide' so effortlessly across the skin. These blades do cut every bit as good if not a tiny bit better. An all British shave apart from the blade. Regards Dick.

Today's shave:
Razor: 1912 E-R with aluminum handle Shaving Cream: Erasmic red cap (old formulation) Proraso Post cream
This is a pretty decent razor, but the light handle takes some getting used to.

Greetings Saturday 9th March 2013 Prep: Shower Razor: Ever Ready 1912 (Brit.) Blade: GEM Blue Star Carbon Brush: Vulfix 404 Mixed Cream: Ingram's Aftershave: RSC Balm A super shave. The Ingram's is not my favourite cream, I used it only because it's UK made, for the theme week ; I do not rate it highly, it is a cream strictly for menthol lovers (which I am not) it seems to anesthetise your entire face! Regards Dick.
