I finally had a chance this past weekend to give the little '24 travel razor, I picked up a couple of weeks ago, a thorough run through the paces. As can be seen from the pictures, this is one diminutive package. My first thought was how can I hold such a small handle. As my profile name suggest, I have been blessed/cursed with bear claws for hands (also because I occasionaly growl like a bear ). Having large meat hooks, small handles always seem to cause problems for me. One or two fingers is all I can usually use for a grip. Such is the case here. I was able to comfortable place two fingers and a thumb on the handle. My index finger and thumb gripped the handle and my communication finger (middle, but that is another story), is placed at the bottom for support. I figured with this grip, I could manage a few passes until my digits became too slippery to hold the razor. Boy, was I wrong. Althought the grip and the large shaving head made for a very top heavy razor, this actually made for a very light touch/pressure on the face. While I was anticipating a mediocre to fair shave at best, the little '24 performed flawlessly. The shaves I have received this little razor are approaching great. Although the "Shovelhead" will not be my first pick out my rotation, which is reserved for my J3, it would be a toss up between this and my beloved Damaskeene. Not bad for the little razor tha could. Alright Pbear! I am glad you liked the 1924 and I am not surprised you found it's performance to be great. Looks like your and my experience are very much the same. The 1924 competing with your Damaskeene? Well, that shows how great this razor truly is!
