I enjoyed your comments about honing and the current culture of honemeisters. Keepin' it real.

I just picked up 2 of these today off the bay. One is a Viscount and the other is "The Traveler". I can't wait to get them as they both appear EF to mint to me in their pictures. Ultimate proof will be when they arrive, but they seem really nice for very little money.

I have one in the same case. It was one of my very first SE razors and I'm still enamoured with it. I believe this can also be referred to as a Viscount. The Traveller name refers to the case and presentation.
Very nice razor and great photos.

I honed the blade of my Rolls outside the box as I would a straight - fast cutting barber hone, Yellow Lake oilstone, then stropped on CrOx on balsa then horsehide. Well worth the effort as the result was a superb and very comfortable shave. All the problems with the Rolls stem from using a blade that is not sufficiently sharp. This was the condition they were in when new, so a lot of them were quickly discarded. This, along with the excellence of their build quality, explains why there are so many sets around in excellent condition. Get honing and experience the Rolls magic! Injector fever!!
