I get 200 TP 121-3 GEM SS ptfe coated blades shipped to my door for $50. They're in Califormia and I'm in Maine, CONUS shipping doesn't get much worse than that. They need an address to ship them to where an adult will be found. A business address will do, and they will check before shipping. That's what I needed...I thought you mentioned that somewhere a while back but my blurry recollection was you were only getting 100 blades at that price-- For 200 Blades I'm in.... Thanks

Greetings I have just looked on Connaught 's web site here in the UK connaughtshaving.com/ and to my surprise it appears that I pay less for the GEM stainless PTFE coated blades than you do even though they are made in the USA! They are £27.60 delivered for 200 which converts to 43.78 US dollars. It's very rare that here in 'rip-off Britain' to find anything that's not cheaper your side of the pond. Regards Dick.

I've ordered items from Connaught before and have felt I've gotten a good value even with the added postage required to send to the States.

I tried a South Korean/Dorco blade this weekend. My advise.....don't. They really suck. That is all Quite a while ago I read a suggestion that somehow DORCO window scraper blades got confused with shaving blades and were sold as shaving blades. After using their DE blades I find that hard to believe. What isn't hard to believe is that if they were intended for shaving that they were terrible. If the blade package says DORCO or in the fine print, made in Korea, I put the blades back.

I have no experience with these blades, But Chinese made Vincent SE Carbon Steel blades are reported as being not worth the $.50 price for a 5 pack.

Since I've been in Seattle I've been making the drug store rounds.....Walgrens crapped out with NO SE blades....a couple small stores had the Dorco, no thanks....I saw some, rebranded made in Isreal blades... What are those??? What are the made in Isreal single edge blades They were at Rite-Aid.

What are those??? What are the made in Isreal single edge blades They were at Rite-Aid. Gotta be ASR/Personna right? They have a manufacturing plant in Israel... ...and this thread has reminded me I much much prefer carbon steel - I get less irritation and they leave my face feeling so much better than stainless. But am I really the ONLY person who gets good results from the generic carbon Personna 009 RD? They're sold by automotive suppliers, so I guess are only double faceted industrial blades and only good for two shaves, but those two shaves easily match the Blue Star and Treet shaves for sharpness and smoothness and far surpass the GEM SS in this respect. Triple faceted carbons simply aren't available in UK, though I've had a kind offer from a member in US to purchase on my behalf, and neither is time travel, since the very best SE blades I've ever tried are some NOS Micromatic blades. Still got 4 of those left for special occasions!

But am I really the ONLY person who gets good results from the generic carbon Personna 009 RD? Well Marcus, if you're willing to pop one in the post to me I'll give it a go. I've only used the Personna SS ptfe blades apart from a blue PAL (I think) blade that Paul sent over but that was a pretty rough shave.

I'm pretty sure I dropped you a 009 RD blade in, too, in that package. Either way, I'll put a 009 RD in with the Clog Pruf passaround* along with a modern GEM, a vintage GEM and vintage PAL (or two). * over on The Shaving Room, I've put a Clog Pruf out for passaround.

Does the generic personna carbon shave as good as the blue Pal?.... If thats the case then I'll love them....I unequivically adore the Blue PAL carbons... So? ? Do the generic carbon Personnas shave like the PAL supers?
