Thanks CB, very interesting. If you look at the drawings they show the components disassembled and together. They are more complex than they look, Really helps to understand how they work.

Yeah , these simple looking tools are pretty neat . Octavius Rodrigues should have a memorial built. When I see these and the break downs and then the real item , it lets me see a thought process and not a cad program. just the amount of drawings for the way the blade is held goes from early tech capability to pre -war (2 that is) and war tech. It's like finding the Dead Sea scrolls to me. And of course finally seeing the 1937 patent docs was super neato. Like popping open King Tuts' Tomb for me. lolololol. btw the key for finding the docs was to search for Magazine Repeating Razor Co. and not Schick. It was an aha moment. Enjoy the week!

That's such great research! So was Octavius Rodriues the designer of the E-type? And why is the company registered in Afghanistan? Is that to exploit some commercial law loophole?

Mj--yup he was. Old Col. Schick was out of the company when the E was designed.

Mj--yup he was. Old Col. Schick was out of the company when the E was designed. Wow! So Octavius V Rodrugues is actually the inventor of the injector as we know it today, capitalising on Schick's original idea. I couldn't find a photo of him online, but he should definitely get more credit!

I haven't found a pic of him(O.R.) yet, But like some Phantom of the bygone days of radio or a good book, I see him with a bbs, dressed to the t's, drivin a Doozie or a boatail Auburn or at least an Imperial.Tasteful digs overlooking Central Park, a collection of deco, etc. Anyway , the pic has to be out there. Schicks original idea is not an injector but a magazine loader. The a,b, and c models load like a gun(He was an army colonel after all)a mag of blades, load and pull and push. I really dig the design and the blades have an up and down side. Yes kids, dat do bee da troot. Not a normal 2 sided bevel. I was forewarned by someone before I used then. So the Colonel sold out and left the company and came up with an electric dry shaver. buzz, buzz. Woof, gettin late. Have a great week all.
