Thanks to a very kind and generous PIF from a member on another forum, I now have a Schick M to enjoy. After the tricky disappointment of the PAL adjustable, I wondered how Schick would handle moving parts and the answer is a lot better! There's still some slight mechanical issues - there's a bit of a wonky blade gap, a problem common to these adjustables, but it doesn't seem to affect the shave which is excellent. Like the I, J and L, this M is very mild.Even set at the max of 8 it barely nudges into the territory of my Canadian E, but just like all it's stablemates it is also shockingly efficient. I set it on 6 for WTG, 5 for ATG and then 8 for the final pass and the result was effortless BBS! To be honest, the adjustable feature seems like a superfluous gimmick - I've had equally good shaves from all my other Schicks - but it's a workable gimmick and the Schick M is surely yet another truly great injector!

This razor revived my interest in injectors when I finally got a shave out of one of them. I found dialled wide open gave me the shave I was looking for. Dialled down was very safe for a final polishing. I think of the injectors that I have, this is the one I'd grab ...
... that said, I have another coming; a bit of a mystery. It could be a G, could be an E. We'll see. I gather those are much more aggressive, so potentially "up my street". Meanwhile, I have one of these Dials whenever I feel the urge.

I'm a big fan of the Schick adjustables and usually just crank them wide open.

Setting 1 on the adjustable is so mild it makes my N1 injector feel like a lawn mower. Nice razor a bit too tame but a worthy addition to the collection no doubt.

Never met a Schick I didn't love...I learned to shave; many years ago; on one...have had many through the years, and they have all been great shavers... I've had several versions of the 'M' and dug them all....Remember the 'Protector'? It had that piece that covered the blade with the flick of a switch...Yep...like Tom, I could never resist cranking mine wide open either...In fact my Pop said the same thing...Maybe thats why they designed them on the mild side, they knew most of us couldn't resist...lol I also agree...as much as I love all the newer cool things they did...I've never actually gotten a better shave than with the old E type...They just got it sooo right with that one, left no room for improvement...Actually, I'm without an 'E' these days...I'll have to fix that now that I think of it... The good Col was undeniably a genius and the Schick line of products continued to show innovative ideas for many decades after the Col had left the building... Shame they dropped that creative ball when they dropped injectors...

Yes those darn things are well overpriced. My cheap side has really ruled me on this model so I have yet to pick one up. Hopefully I'll find one in the wild for cheap because I'm not shelling out big bux for one. Darn curious though. One day.

I love the 'M's but I also love every Schick Injector that I've had the pleasure to shave with...as I've said before, I've never really gotten a better shave than the ole Schick E type....So I have to say, I'm with the Rocket Dood on this one....so as to todays feeding frenzy...I'm afraid I'm on a diet...lol...But then having my favorite '55 Hydro-magic by the sink "armed & Dangerous" makes sticking to my 'diet' a little easier....lol
But if the market for these settles in at those high prices...then I suppose eventually I'll 'cave'...lol
