Far be it from me to enable anyone here... but there are two Rolls soap bowls on the 'bay at the moment. I presume they're empty but if I had more funds I'd be snapping one up regardless.

Not only, but also ... Hehe! Brand new, sealed Rolls Razor Shaving Stick. Will I use it? Of course I will!

OMG Paul! OMG!!!!!!!! And doesn't that stick have a weird profile? Do I spy more bakelite?

It's a nice piece, certainly. The shaving soap has The Whetter's profile detailed in a contrasting paint; the stick is more subtle. The bakelite is a nice red/brown and black, just like parts of the soap dish.
The stick screws down into the base, rather than pushing into retaining buttresses. It's in very secure for use. The look and smell is the same as the soap, so I guess I'll be in for the same shaving experience with a different method of delivery.
As a pair, I'm really chuffed!

That's nice. Have you used it yet? I've used the bowl soap a number of times, so I know what I'm in for. It's a lovely old-fashioned shave. There really is no other way of explaining it; you just know you're using an old-fashioned soap, reminiscent of freshly washed heavy cotton sheets billowing in the breeze. The stick, I'll peel the wrapper off and use in due course with a suitable razor - I think my Wilkinson Sword Empires are due a proper outing.

LATHER BOMB!!!
The largest amount of thick, protective and buildable lather from the smallest amount of soap that I have encountered!
Granted, sticks do seem to put more soap on the face than bowl lathering, but a scant smear from one side to the other over my top lip and a swipe up the middle of my next and I almost needed a shovel to take away the excess.
It has the self-same scent of the bowl soap: heavy cotton sheets, hand washed and hanging in the breeze.
What a fantastic stick!
