I just can't get over how cheap these excellent razors go for ... I mean, this one was something like £15 posted from The States, half the price of a basic Merkur or a Muhle from right here in the UK. Antiques at junk shop prices. It's a nice set - the head looks great on my Treet 'Parade' handle, other heads look nice on this bakelite handle. Very pleased

That is a very nice G-3 set. They were a US military issue. I have one that has never been used and is still in the cardboard box. I also have one that I use as a travel set. The razor I use most these days is a 1912 that is identical to the one in that set. Great catch!!!!

... and a further set with metal handle to compliment: Very nice. That handle is the one that was military issue according to Waits.

I know this is an old thread....I just wanted to clear one thing up...The G3's with the metal handle were first 2 years of the War...Then the Bakelite/Plastic handles became military issue in these G3 kits...I believe '43... Carry on....

Can someone provide a good link, the one above is nonfunctional. I assume it's on the old site, and the search there didn't help.

Actually the bakelite handles started being used in the G3 sets in the middle of WW2, not after the War. I don't have a good link but I'm sure some of the local cats do, and hopefully one will come along shortly. I do have a beautiful G3 set though:
