i am quite surprised ,as to how few people use this readily available soap as part of their pre shave regime. It contains no harsh ingredients, and is recommended for those with sensitive skins. I use it daily, and find it softens up my whiskers . It is available both sides of the pond, and is quite inexpensive.

Lots of folks use the Clearly Natural. Last time I saw Neutrogena over here it was over $3/bar and the Clearly Natural was about $1 for essentially the same soap. Crossing the pond adds to the price. Whoops, not the same. CN soap can also be used as a shave soap and Neut' doesn't lather worth a hoot.
IMO, pretty much any soap will do the job of preshave prep. When I bother I just use a bit of the shave soap that I plan to lather; it doesn't take much.

I used to overpay for MR GLO and it was IMO not worth the price.

I got 3 Bars of Neutrogena under $3.
