Hi Everybody, Thanks for advice. Took a punt and got mixed bag of more modern injectors + some DE, for not too much money. Will show them when they come ,as may need help in ID of them. Feel quite excited about a new Challenge in Razors. Not going to bid on an Eagle which took my eye. Mike B PS One is a Schick Golden 500, which i understand is a mild Razor. Good work Mike! It's started now - and has already progressed from just one to "a mixed bag" The J was my first injector and I can remember being so amazed by it. And what's the Eagle you refer to? Hi Marcus, Nice looking LC type razor on the Bay, with Brush Soap Holders. Looked like took a propriety blade. Mike

And what's all the fuss and high prices over the adjustable schick? I have never wanted to over pay for a plastic razor. Are they really "all that"?

I don't know if I'm just stubborn or perhaps thick of head, but I still have only really shaved with E models. I have one of the tennis handled ones otherwise and that's it.... and the early style magazine in the handle jobs which I don't really care for as shavers. Ive never yet tried the "new" models after the Es. I have simply not been intrigued by them. For some reason Birdlives post is making me thirst a little for the Schick experience. Maybe I'll try and find the tennis racket thing and see what that does. Hey man....if you feel froggy......Jump!.......But you might want to jump on a PAL Injecto-matic.....Mine just arrived today.....might be the best shave I've ever had....This thing is outstanding !!

And what's all the fuss and high prices over the adjustable schick? I have never wanted to over pay for a plastic razor. Are they really "all that"? When I first got my Schick Adjustable (M1, aka "Schick Dial") I was underwhelmed. Even cranked up all the way it was on the mild side. Then I tried it with a Twin Blade. Whoa. This transforms it into an entirely different razor, possibly the most efficient whisker removal tool that I own. On the 5 or 6 setting (1-8 scale, 8 being the most aggressive) it is as aggressive as I care to go, requiring a light touch and close attention in order to avoid irritation. It leaves me with an incredible shave, but struggling with deep philosophical issues: Is an injector razor loaded with a twin blade a "real" single edge, or am I straying from the One True Path to Single Edge Enlightenment? --Bob
