Ok, ok I know.. canned goos are not the great choice for us, but everyone sometime have a rush. Nothing like good lather from favorite soap / cream and brush. I remember, my first ever shaving foam was given to me as present for my high school graduation from my aunt. I hated it so much, so, I even can`t remember what happened with this foam. Never tried it. Just disappeared. Anyway, before a year I rediscovered canned goos (especially foams, never used a gel). To be honest, the shave isn`t so bad at all, except not fun at all. So, what is your opinion about them? I know, Barbasol and Noxzema are old brands there, in USA, so, maybe they are well loved by shavers there. Do you use canned goo occasionally?

On occasion I will use the canned goo. Mostly Barbasol, but I have a small travel can of Gillette Foamy that stays in my dopp bag. When SWMBO was selling Mary Kay, I tried their stuff. Nothing bad, but nothing good. I started out using an unmentionable and Schick gel. The gel was good, and it made a nice lather, but it just seemed to get clogged up too much, at least as compared to Barbasol and Gillette Foamy.
Right now I have one can of Barbasol under the sink, it us the original. I will try the others and see if any difference exists. My thought is that it us just marketing. But for the price, I cant pass up buying them all. I belive the green is with Aloe, and the purple is "extra moisturizing"

Funny you should mention Noxema and Barbasol. On the rare times that I use canned foam, I use those two brands.
Last weekend, I went out of town for 4 days and 3 shaves. I didn't want to pack a lot of stuff, nor have a wet brush in my pack. Barbasol, (for sensitive skin), in the small travel can worked out perfectly.
I found that adding a bit of water to the foam really helps the performance. It goes like this: Wet hands, dispense a plum-sized dollop of foam, massage foam onto a wet face. Make sure the water and the foam are one with each other and one with the whiskers. Spread the foam evenly over the face like whipped cream icing on a retirement cake, then shave.
I never have clogging problems with Noxema or Barbasol. Both brands rinse out of traditional razors with ease.
Like you said, it isn't bad, it's just not as great as a brush-lathered soap or cream.

I wonder why the extra water works so well? I have no idea as to why, but it would be interesting to know. Also, I wonder if it would make any difference with the other kinds of Barbasol, meaning, the aloe, and sensitive?
I have never tried the Noxema, but I will look for it.
The canned goop that is in a cream never seemed to clog the unmentionable, but the Schick gel did. It was horrible horrible stuff. I may just have to do a shave video with the Barbasol. I am sure Fuzzy wont like it, but at least I wont get as big of a brick as when you talk about molesting Williams.

Oh hell no!!! Better to lather up a bar of bath soap with your hands and apply it to your face. Real men NEVER use canned goo!

I have a can of Barbasol which I rarely will use with my unmentionable. (Fuzzy was here) It is absolutely awful unusable and tuggy with my injectors.

Barbasol goo is not terrible. No fun to use at all though.

I got a away from canned goo because it never helped my skin irritation even when I switched to unmentionables. So nice can goo for me. I'd rather use bar soap as already stated as an alternative if i had no choice.

Used Barbasol this morning for my shave. Worked well, and left face just fine. No dryness or redness. Made in America, been around for close to 100 years.

I have even gotten my wife off canned goo and unmentionables (ordinary shaver )I just can't get her to try one of my SE's. At least that old stuff is out of the shower now!
