Hello friends,
today I used for first time Tweex shave stick. It is similar like Arko, with somehow strongest and industrial smell. I have psoriasis, and realized, that my skin got red and itchy when I applied the lather. Same thing when I other tallow based soaps, but not sure from all or particular ones. Is possible to have allergic reaction? My skin get better after few hours, but still there is some redness
I read lanolool and parfum can be a issue.
Thanks!

In my experience, yes, you surely can have had an allergic reaction. That is what it sounds like. The way I test, I use a product, and if my face experiences redness or stinging, I wait 2 or 3 days to try the product again. On the 2nd use, I divide the potential allergen in half amount, if the same thing happens, then you can be reasonably sure it was that particular product.

I have never had a reaction to a product like that. It does sound like a allergic thing though.

I have the same problem with Mitchalls wool fat. Too bad because I really liked it. I have a French soap that does it to a lesser degree.

I decided to start experiments with available soaps and creams I have. Recently I used Palmolive (both soap stick and cream, european version with palm extract), and they are OK. I haven`t noticed any allergic reaction from them The cream is bit better because is more moisture. Maybe turkish and some other shaving products contains too much "perfume" for my delicate skin from psoriasis disease ... Next to try : VDH Deluxe One the site of manufacturer they suggest VDH Glycerin for people with dermatitis and psoriasis, but I hope Deluxe will be OK too.
