I found a great way to deodorize animal hair brushes. Deodorizing dog shampoo. The smell was completely gone after about two washes.

Do you get it at the vet, or at Walmart?

Walmart. I think the one I used is unscented for sensitive skin pets.

Whenever I get a new badger or boar, I just do a test lathering with it with one of my soaps. Usually Razorock Classic. This is the only time I bowl lather. After I get a good lather, I let the brush sit for about 30 minutes and then rinse it out. Any smell after that is negligible.
