Well after extensive testing, I have concluded that for me, no other injector is as fun or easy to use, nor gives such an exceptional shave as does the I2 hydro magic, in fact I could easily use this razor and a gem damaskeene for the rest of my life without regret or second thought. My significant other loves the long handle J models I bought for her. "My legs have never been so smooth."
Every razor fanatic man or woman should try an injector.

I love the hydro magic also. But I can't decide if it is a lot better then the G1. Those are two of my favorites. Then I love my PAL injectomatic also.

Honestly boss, I have several G's also, and the shave is just as good , I just like the handle and the lever for ease of cleaning. All in all I think the shave from the E G I and J models are all very close, great in fact!

They're all great, but the I2 HM just seems to be just about perfect.

I've got 2. A G1 and a Stick Schick. Two is enough, actually one is good enough but I have two so I can have some variety in my injector shaves.

I can see a J working well for a woman,My wife has a pink Lady Eversharp and loves it... I love the hydro magic also. But I can't decide if it is a lot better then the G1. Those are two of my favorites. Then I love my PAL injectomatic also. The PAL injectomatics are cool looking, might grab one someday after I thin out my supply a bit... They're all great, but the I2 HM just seems to be just about perfect. If magic wasn't already part of it's name,I'd add it.... I own some fine razors, but nothing does as superb a job of whisker removal to total smoothness while leaving my skin untouched....

Got more snow here today, last couple of years.... weather broke early, rain washed all the salt away, had my bike on the road by March 15th.... No way this year, probably gonna be a few more weeks.
I need to get that Harley rollin' and stop accumulating so many razors !

Used an I2 HM this morning with a Personna blade, and also took a break from Williams and broke out the Klar Kabinett. What a great start!

I2H-M.....Williams....Personna That's pretty much my go to lineup these days,I've been really pleased with the Connaught Personna blades, they're all I have available except for some unused vintage blades that came with razors I've acquired.

I own some fine razors, but nothing does as superb a job of whisker removal to total smoothness while leaving my skin untouched.... .Wow...Guess I'm another I2 guy...love razorx's Hydro-zilla pics...I might have to steal that for an Avatar....Marc do you mind if I use that photo...I think it's genius...you really captured the Dynamic of the Hydro-magic....lmao I know what H-T is saying about different razors of the same types having differences....I agree, but I think theres a method to the madness...First there is the user-abuser reason, but this is true for all vintage razors....Then theres the Canadian razors are always different from the U.S.razors that I've tried. I don't think its a quality control thing, but they're just different...Like British and U.S.Gillettes... Next, then I see definite modifications, like Marc's I1 with the wider top plate and different blade edge to guard bar placement...I believe this started happening towards the end of the I types...almost a transition to the J types... The thing is the E and G's seem to have the same heads but there are many differences...Even between all the different E's...Different Guard bar serrations...different amount of blade showing...I don't believe it has to do with quality control as much as...Well... Schick never used the A,B,C D type of classification, That came later...So there was experimantation and many Hybreds between types... In general, I think most of the time the E's will have more blade showing....But from what I can see 1912's have the samething going on....Different handles, Curved top plate, flat top plate, beveled edge...sometimes the closed comb seems out of alinement but it still shaves great....But the general character is still 1912....You even have differences between several Damaskeene 1912's.....Samething with the Schicks, but the general traits and characteristics run true...and to me the E's generally run a little more aggressive, and need a lighter touch...similar if you will to the 1912's....The G's damn close, but maybe leave room for a little more reckless style...but as you progress...G1-G2-....G8...there seems to be a gradual less blade showing...Maybe as their blade technology got better, they went milder with the razor to compensate... The F's were a different animal and very mild....J's diffinitely on the mild side just this side of the L's...the mildest....The I's I believe are the proverbial 'Goldilocks' just right combination....This was when Eversharp made the first real innovative change, in an effort to have people realize these were Eversharp razors...But the mechanism was Col Schicks and people would always identify them as Schicks...I know I do...So Eversharp backed off with the identity change, and just kept making the best razor around along with the SE's of course... But the very nature of the beast is such...that even an L type can take your face off....Injectors even when mild behave differently than a mild DE...A mild DE may be impossible to get a close shave with...but the comparable Injector with the right technique will still give you a great shave...I've never met an Injector; that wasn't damaged; that didn't have the capability of giving a great shave... That said....I do prefer the I types and my I2 in perticular...Not so aggressive that I need to be too careful and not so mild that I need a half dozen passes to reach BBS....This baby is proof that Col Schick did invent a better mouse-trap...

It's a picture of my original first ever I2H-M…
When I got it,I didn't know it was the lesser seen black & chrome version. The pics all your's Bird man,my insane iPhone camera skill mojo was working' on that one LOL.
That's great perspective on the Shicks and Ever Sharp/Shicks...they keep us on our toes.
All kinds of subtleties…My Canadian E2 is definitely less forgiving than my American E2
My Black & Chrome I2H-M ? Believe it or not it's doesn't feel the same as my Black and Gold.I could easily tell them apart by the way they shave. The sheet of metal used to manufacture my chrome version is slightly thinner and I can feel that there's less of a drop off from the surface of the top plate to the surface of the blade and something about that's a good thing, the shave's incredibly sweet.
Weird luck with the Damaskeene's I've had or have. All have the rounded top plate and all a beveled edge,I've never shaved with one that was rounded all the way across without the bevel.I wonder if this is why I've never been as pleased with the shave as so many others.

Greetings
I have a few Schicks and I too think the style of head on the I and the J models is the best and for me provide probably my best injector shaves. I only have the I1 which as you know is the non Hydro Magic model and I really really like it, it has just enough bite to shave well without being too fierce.
I also like my J3 Golden 500 which appears to my untrained eye to have the same head but with the Hydro Magic feature, sadly (IMHO) it has a 'broom handle' fixed to the head at least I feel it is too long by far, others of course love it for that very reason.
I also like the G models and I find they shave really well but I'm less enthusiastic about my E2 which is my only razor that I often get a weeper with.
I do not own any models later than J but would like to try one or two and I keep looking on e-bay for a late model bargain, of course with the later models the 'fashion' had changed to the longer handles which is obviously what users were demanding, a trend which has carried on to today in cartridge razors.
Regards Dick.

Regards Dick. I was just speaking with Alan about the I1's the other day...you know I really very seldom actually use the H-M lever...If I had a great shaving I1 I would be perfectly content...A friend of mine just got a 'Schick 500' and sent me some pics...Whew!! the J's are one lovely razor even with the long handle...those J's are gorgeous...They look like they could get a speeding ticket sitting still...lol... You were talking about the more modern ones...Recently it seems I've got a number of friends raving about the Schick Grips (the Tennis Raquet Grip)...In fact Hoosier Trooper said his 'rocked'...You've already got the Classic Shavers of the injector scene...now just have fun with it...Some of those novelty injectors of later years actually do shave great...
