Wow!!!!! What a set!!!!!!! Congrats, that is amazing to find such a complete, hardly used set like that. I have not heard of a Louis before, it does look very well made. Is that a strop in the long thin green box? Excellent score and great post, awesome pics

Greetings
Lovely looking razor, the first Louis I have ever seen. The head seems really solid compared to Gems and ER's of the same period. A great find. Good news that it will take a modern blade as well.
Regards Dick.

I used it this morning and it is really a great little shaver. The long teeth are fantastic!
It is nicely made with the frame/head being thick and plushly plated. The handle is affixed - it will not thread out. It is a plated steel with some plating loss. But the frame is like the construction of the Streamline - a nice solid, well plated, well finished piece.
That is a stropper inside as well, and it is in excellent shape too. The logo is a little worn, but clearly reads 'Louis' on the surface. Wchnu, I was really close to using the brush with the razor, but I let it be so far. It looks like it should lather up quite well. There was a fair bit of 'shed' inside the case, maybe twenty or so hairs stuck to the felt, so it might prove to be brittle. It would be a shame to knock it about too much but it looks like it could take an additional use or two along its path.
I really did enjoy using this one today. Best shave in a while!

Nice set! Glad to hear that it shaves great too!
Edit: FWIW, your set is shown on page L20 of Waits Compendium. Circa 1910.
