I am now on my 2nd shave with these blades and my hydromagic and I am hooked. With the Chinese schick blades that was not the case at all - I actually sold my two razors, a G and an L, because of the poor experience i got with those blades ... wish I hadn't done that...

A pure case of YMMV. Most people like the Chinese blades. I have not tried them. Glad you found something that works for you. Shave on Sir!!

I tried the Chinese chicks for a while then bought a couple of Personna injectors to see what I thought. They are a big hit with me,they're the only injector blades I use.My I2-HM armed with a Personna PTFE blade is my signature shave.

Funny how blade preference varies so much. I can get by with the Personna's but like the Chicks a lot more.

Hmm.. 3rd day in... they feel a lot like carts, easy to use like carts. Only problem is I am starting to get ingrown hairs again on my neck, just like with carts which i haven't had since i switched to DEs last year....

Marc, I'm all for saving a buck as well, but I also like to buy things from locally owned stores as well so that's where I get the Schicks. The Personna's I have are what I still have left from a group buy at B&B two or three years ago, and some that I picked up when they were being sold on clearance at a couple local drugstores.

Well, in the spirit of supporting local, Personnas are made in the US.

Well, in the spirit of supporting local, Personnas are made in the US. Yep, but the Personna injector blades aren't sold in retail stores any longer, the Schicks are. That's what I meant by buying locally. There are stores within a few miles of where I live that carry them.

That's the thing....trying to buy stuff manufactured in the US and also trying to keep the inventories hopping at the local stores who are keeping wet shaving supplies on their shelves.I especially like to buy at the Ma and Pa stores that still carry our stuff. My grandpa was a pharmacist and owned his own independent drug store in Indiana,Whenever I can buy meds or other stuff from the small drugstores that are still around it's a good feeling, had a local one until about 3 years ago.
Up here between Chicago and Milwaukee I haven't seen any injectors in a long time although I'm not sure about Walmart.I've see Van DerHagen brushes and soap in Walgreens and Williams at a little grocery store north of here plus also at CVS and for a while BermaShave brushes at another grocery store.Target's got some wet shaving supplies and the Ulta beauty supply my wife gets stuff at has a few brands of shave cream.
I'm hoping to run across some some more Mom & Pop places when we're on road trips this summer.

it would be great if there were more mom and pop drugstores and they all still sold nice razors and supplies.

5th shave in and it is still going strong... maybe a hair less than new but very very smooth nonetheless.
How many shaves do you usually pull off thesr personnas?

I get 14 shaves out of Personna injector blades same as I get from GEM stainless steel PTFE single edge blades. The Chinese chicks lasted that long as well.I I prefer the Personna Blades over the "Chicks" (Chinese Schicks), I've gotten 15 comfortable shaves with the Personna, no Nicks, Burn or irritation. The "Chicks" lasted 14 shaves, #3,7, 10 & 13 I experienced either tugging, was irritated or left some Razor Burn.
During both longevity tests I used the same soap (Tabac), brush (Vie-Long Pure Horse @44/20) & razor (Schick J1) from start to finish. My first shave in 1976 was with Tabac, and it was my only soap until ~2006, when I discovered on-line shopping, my go to when I need a perfect lather. My first choice are Vintage Schick or Gillette Injector Blades, I have ~400 Vintage Blades, and ~4 packs of current Production Personna Blades, Just In Case!

I agree with the buy local. There are a lot of places around here to get the Treet and PAL blades. I can also get the Blue Stars from a pharmacy that is within walking distance of the house. The next time I need to buy injectors i will get tge chicks from a place in Lafayette. Only store I have found with them.
