Greetings, It is hard for me to be able to distinguish them. Some description mentions a 'flap' but i was not able to identify that either. Is there a photo, somewhere, showing them side by side such the differences are clear? Thanks...

There is one somewhere in the Schick threads. I take a look and get back to you.

I couldn't find it but if you go to the Schick Injector forum and look at the "I need a Schick lesson " thread you can see a close up of an upside down G. You will see a round spring that connects the disk on the handle to the head of the razor. On an E there are flaps on the side of the spring to assist in loosening the head for cleaning (don't do that to a G!).You really need a picture to see the difference. If you have an idea what to look for you can see it easily on ebay. Also, I think the Gs have a seam in the handle material.

The G types have a seam that runs the length of the handle because they are made of molded plastic, the E types are Bakelite, no seam. Also the E type will have patent number 1806087 and "others pending" stamped on the underside of the frame. The G types have that patent number and also 1969945 stamped on them. But, and there's always a but, there are a few oddballs out there. I have one that has the frame from an E, and a handle from a G, my guess is that it was made early in the G production while they still had some E frames left. A couple more like it have shown up over at theshaveden board. Here's a thread about it. theoriginalsafetytoo.com/thread/383/odd-schick-injector

Thanks Tom, I knew there was something out there. Galhatz, if you want to see a good picture of the "flaps" go into the thread "SOTD Theme 5/6/13 - 5/12/13". Sled Dog (Kevin) has a nice picture that shows the flaps on his Tuesday Razor.

I've also noticed that American Es' have , "Made In USA on the back of the frame above the circle. But wait there's more!!Not all Es' have Made in USA on the back. I have 3 E s' and 2 have it under the blade, but wait....The lather flow slots on my early E is a 2 slot as seen on many bar razors, but(you're so right Tom) but my other 2 Es' have a triangular slot like an early Tech. and the shape of the flaps on the spring changes slightly from early to late E and none on The Gs' humongous spring.Oh and the head on a G is slightly wider than an E.There's even a difference on the bars striations between early and late Es'. I will try to post pics but am having trouble uploading them? Do I do it as an attachment or what?

Hi all,
I've posted up in the photo gallery some more E,G pix. Click on them for the big picture. It's been fascinating seeing the differences in the Es'. I even saw one on e-bay that had a "66" finish on it!! The biggest overall difference to my eye is the quality difference in overall finish. Schick wins for me hands down. The fit and finish are feh on the Gs' , to me.It's like an American Crat versus a Brit. Crat. I've shaved with both and prefer the E o'er the G. I mostly use NOS blades and they just sing in the E and give me that 12 hour shave I enjoy. The handle on the E is just beautiful and would certainly get a "butterscotch" lover to at least drool. I do like the more effective result of the E o'er the G. Same as I feel about slants. Surprisingly mild but immensely effective but of course (repeat after me) ymmv.
