I bought this Dubl Duck brush about three years ago and it actually worked pretty good, but the knot was just a little too long, so about a year ago I trimmed off about a half an inch or so. It worked much better but I just didn't care for the looks of it and the knot was still pretty big and wide. Since it came originally with a boar knot, and says so on the handle, I decided to keep it as original as possible and replace it with a 22 mm Omega boar from TGN and wow, does it work great. I really like the looks of the black collar that these knots come with, it fits right in with the colors of the brush. This is one outstanding performer. Here's a couple before pictures of the front and back: And here's the after shots.

Another winner. How do you like that style of handle? I have an Old Spice brush I have been thinking about changing to a synthetic.

Thanks papa. This is my favorite style of handle, both in looks and how they feel. I've used this brush twice with the new knot and it's quickly becoming my favorite brush.

YEAH MAN!!!!! Thats my favorite style of brush too.....Guess that falls into that 'Great Minds' category..... Absolutely scrumptious brush....Unbelievable, but I believe thats the first Dubl Duck brush that I've seen....Dozens of Str8's but I personally have not had the pleasure til now, of appreciating this beautiful brush......Shows my youthful ignorance or is it another 'Senior Moment'......lol

That's it, I am sending you all of my beat up brushes for restoration work! I think you got yourself a new career. By the way, a while back you suggested using Simichrome metal polish to polish old razors and so far it's worked miracles. Thanks for the tip!

They sure crammed a lot of writing on it that's for sure! That's it, I am sending you all of my beat up brushes for restoration work! I think you got yourself a new career. I appreciate it, but I've already got several more lined up for sprucing up that I've had around. A few minutes here and there each day is about all the time I have to spare, so I've got plenty of work ahead!

I have never quite been satisfied with the way this brush looked with the 22mm knot, and when I put the 27mm Omega knot in the large C-Mon handle I realized what this Dubl Duck needed so I ordered another one from TGN. After a little twisting and pulling I got the 22mm knot out, chopped the plastic bucket off the new 27mm and glued it in the handle. One of the advantages of silicone adhesive is that the knot can be removed to change knots, something that probably can't be done with epoxy. Now, I really like the looks of the brush because I think it looks more balanced.

Yes, it looks better IMO.
Tom, you're a perfectionist! That's not a bad thing. Nice brush!

Thanks. It was also a good excuse to throw another 27mm into the rotation.

What silicone do you use? I am sure you have said before Lately I've been using DAP. I think the first knot in this one was held in with Liquid Nails brand.
