Hey Everybody,
Since I am so new at this, I'm not sure how to rate or what to expect from some of the razors out there. I have a 1912 Gem, 1912 Star and a Micromatic Clog Proof.
How would theses be rated in terms of aggresiveness?
If I were looking for a "mild" single edge razor, should I be looking for a Feather Weight or Countor or Push Button??
I can say that I tried out the 1912 Star over the weekend. It went well but left my face a little touchy.
So, what say you gents??

First off it's a Clog-pruf, not "proof", you spelled it wrong. Well, actually, you spelled it right, which is wrong, so in order to spell it right you have to spell it wrong.
I find the 1912 variants feel pretty similar to the CP, which is very good. Any of them made starting with the Flying Wing, sometimes called the bullet tip,and later, are generally considered milder than the earlier models.

IMO very mild are the Contour models, the Push-Button, the Heavy Flat Top and the Bullet Tip. I found the Gem Junior Bar to be also quite mild.

Greetings Michaeld
Welcome to you, Tom has summed up the aggressiveness of SE's perfectly in my opinion, the only point I would add is that the very last GEM model made ie the Contour II is super mild, so mild I find it hard to get a decent shave with it after three passes and some touching up, this is not the case with the previous model The Contour which is mild but not 'silly' mild.
My personal choice of the milder models would be the Flying Wing (Bullet Tip)also from that model on until the end of production for GEM the razors get produced cheaper and dare I say it 'tinier' with some incorporating the use of modern plastics.
Regards Dick.

I would definitely try a GEM Junior while you are developing your technique. I have two Damaskeenes here. One is waiting to go to "He who has no Root Beer". The other just returned from Florida. If you would to try it let me know.

Speaking of the Damaskeene models, you should check out flea bay for the closed comb version being that it's incredibly mild.

Ok as usual took a while to get to the post office. There is a featherweight, push button, and HFT on the way to my fellow Louisiana shave geek.

Between the 1912 s and the ClogPruf I personally find the 12s less aggressive shavers than the later made CP. some people find any of the Micromatics to be pretty aggressive and stay away from them. In my experience also, I found that having loggrped enough miles on an easier SE, like a 1912 is helpful. Some good experience helps before using a CP. just my experience though.
As for milder, it looks like you have a great selection coming to allow you to judge for yourself! The folks around here are very generous as you can see. It will be great to hear how you experience the different razors and how you judge their aggressiveness. Enjoy!

I found it to be milder than my other Gem, but a heck of a good razor to start with. Anyway, Welcome aboard and enjoy! p.s--Toms' description had my sides splitting.
