I just today won an auction for what appears to be an old Lather Catcher. It comes in a blue/purple velvet lined case with a chrome tube which supposedly still contains some of the shave stick, a stroppjng handle, and of course...the razor. It is a Lather Catcher design. On the back it says "EAGLE IMPROVED" and "ABOVE 'EM ALL". It has a metal handle that looks as though the stroppjng tool will screw into the bottom. Inside the top on the case, it says "EAGLE de LUXE" in a scripty writing. Anyone have any info on these? Very little other than pics on my other site for shaving, (B&B).

Glad you won it. I was watching it, but it ended before I came home to bid. Great price. Let us know how she shaves.

Eagle arrived today and I have to say, I am very pleased! It looks even better than the pictures gave it credit for. There is an interesting mechanism where the back of the blade sits that I will try to get a picture if when I'm off work. (The part that would hold the blade secure slides to the right with a little handle that sticks out the back. Hard to describe, but hopefully pics will help.). Anyways, I wanted to share my acquisition joy with you guys. I'm not sure if I will get to shave with this, as there are no blades that came with it. I will see if a modern blade will fit it, but if not, I am still very happy to have this in my collection.

Reviving this old thread as my wife surprised me a few weeks ago with one of these beauties for my birthday. Anyhow as I did not have one of their blades. I took 2 minutes and modified the glorious Gem blade. Taking it for a spin tonight.

Here are a few pictures of the blade mod. Step 1. Remove spine Step 2 mark where to cut. Right at bottom of the notches seems good Step 3 use sheers to cut Step 4 trim off ears. This will make it easier to put the spine back on Step 5 open spine a bit more to make Blade seat good Step 6. Put spine back on Step 7 enjoy your shave.
