So, I just found one of these locally and picked it up for a ridiculous price. Just had to rescue it from the wild and give it a good home.
My question is, "How aggressive are these"? The only things I have heard is that they are face eaters and, conversely, that they are quite nice shavers. Guess I'll find out soon enough but would appreciate any input from y'all.
Thanks

MrGuy has a video on YouTube about shaving tips for the OCMM....I dug the video, I don't think I copped any licks from it, but I dug it and it hipped me to not being afraid to relax and let the razor show me the right angle....You know I believe that maybe the OCMM more than any other razor I know of...at least for me, just shows you exactly how it wants to be used....and that blade angle is locked in there, and its perfect...I keep my little finger under the tip to help lift it off my face a little...The words light touch really apply to this guy...But all said and done, these are great and easy shavers...and so far ahead of their time...
Congrats on the score and hope you love it....check out MrGuy's video and let us know how the maiden voyage goes...and to answer your question on just how aggressive these guys are....hmm....When I first got mine, I thought my ER 1912 was more aggressive....I guess because I found the OCMM so easy to use right off the bat. The 1912 I had to learn to use....After I got use to the 1912 I found it to be a little milder than the OCMM, but not much...
Good luck and Enjoy!! I dug mine bigtime right out the gate!!

Excellent advise! The OCMM is a polarizing razor. Watch the video it will help you immensely. At first I kept avoiding using the OCMM from reading so many negative remarks about it. This video helped me a long while back and I also took my time didn't rush and watched my angle. In the end I had a smooth even mild experience with the OCMM. I hope that you like it!

I put the OCMM just behind my Streamline/Jewels, and my OC Damaskeene.

Used it this morning and answered my own question. Paired it with a Gem Stainless blade and it went well. Have to work on the angle thingie but, overall, I was surprised that it seemed so mild and not at all intimadating. Will use it this weekend and report back

I hope it continues to do well. They are very good razors.

Sounds good.
I suspect their reputation was acquired by folks possibly new to SE razors having no knowledge or technique. I think it's quite well behaved, but it needs to be respected. Get sloppy and it'll let you know.
Yes, keep us in the loop.

I have one, and I've been building myself up to using it via the MMCC and the MMCP. My most recent SE shave was with a 1924 which I found violent compared to the MMs I've tried - it rather put me off the MMOC, although rather put me onto it.
When faced with a rapier, you duel carefully ...
Light touch ... it'll do it's thing. I am sure of this after the 1924, which hurts with a 1912 technique, but rewards when you ease right off. The MMOC will be less subtle about it.
If I get my MMOC shave in before you, I'll post up. Have fun! I hope to hear of your experience.

Many folks have a bad first experience with the OCMM, but then when they pick it up later on they have better luck. Then again, sometimes it just doesn't work out. I personally like it a lot. Let us know what you think.

Having only using OCMM twice now. I found that if you take your time, find the sweet spot. You'll be rewarded with the best shave of your life!

That's why I always suggest to folks who don't like it initially to hold onto it for a later date. But I suggest that for all razors unless they're too mild. Personally, I have never gone back to a too mild razor and enjoyed it.
