Got a NOS pack of PAL Premium Edge injector blades in a set I picked up. There's 5 in the dispenser and I guess they must be about 60 years old, so I'm giving one a try. The big thing is that they're carbon rather than stainless, so the blade felt pretty rough on the first two shaves but it left my skin in fantastic condition and feeling really good all day. And then, surprise surprise, on the third shave the blade has really settled in and is now wonderfully smooth without having lost any of its original sharpness. I'm a great fan of carbon steel blades and wonder if there are any modern carbon injector blades (like the Treet DEs and several of the SEs) or are they all stainless?

Ted Pella and emsdiasum both carry carbon steel injector blades, or at least they used to, but I've never tried them or know of anyone who has.

I am a CS fan myself. If you try them let us know how it goes.

I am a CS fan myself. If you try them let us know how it goes. Well I've just had the sixth shave with one of those blades in the Injectomatic and they're fantastic! The first two shaves were a little bit rough and tuggy, and I can see how this might put people off carbon steel or make them think vintage blades were unusable, but on the third shave the blade had settled in and was decently smooth. With every subsequent shave that blade has just got smoother and smoother, with no decrease in sharpness. Honestly, the sixth shave from this blade is the best so far and it's leaving my skin conditioned beautifully in a way that stainless never could
