Sleddog - that is a very nice looking OC. Is that a replate? It almost looks like rhodium? The originals had a grey sort of finish to the metal so I am curious.

I thought it was a replate when I first saw it too! It's gorgeous! Hey, did I tell you guys... There's been a recall of OC Damaskeenes and I've been put in charge of collecting them? I know what you're thinking, but you all don't need to thank me for putting myself out and collecting up all those dangerous recalled razors for safe keeping. I'm all about people. ;D

Greetings
I can't believe what a great job you have made of cleaning it up. I know you had the opportunity to see the razor in the flesh so to speak but if I had viewed photos of it on e-bay I would not have bid on the grounds that it seemed too bad to clean up especially the handle.
Just goes to show how wrong you can be and it makes me now think there have been occasions in the past when I should have taken more of a gamble on some razors that looked 'rough'.
A great clean up job and a super find, I've never even seen one!
Regards Dick.

Fabulous clean up job!! How did you go about it if you don't mind me asking??
(And thanks to ShadowsDad for all his hard work on this OC Damaskeene recall project. A thankless job I am sure - but it might have its benefits!! ;D)

They had an asking price of $17 and I said no, didnt think it would clean up that good. Ended up taking it at $12, but still had my doubts (I didnt know at the time that the OC's are somewhat rare, I just found it odd that it was an OC) Turned out to be one of the easiest razors I have cleaned, sprayed it with Scrubbin Bubbles and all the brown rust looking stuff came right off, rinsed it and gave it a quick polish and that was it..total of 5 minutes and next to no effort. Seems like it was a good deal at $12
