Hopefully, this lot will arrive, but I put a decent bid on a bunch of stuff and won it. I got the following: GEM 1912 - no logo on the back, plain handle with one? two? cuts at the bottom. GEM 1914 - Yay! I'm all ready for March 24th, then. Valet Autostrop Bakelite box (with strop) 2xRolls Blades in boxes - one good, one has a nick ... that's taken some of the strain out of finding a good Rolls since if the blade is duff and the rest of the kit is good, I'll have a decent blade. Can't wait for this lot to land. You can tell, I'm VERY pleased

Blimey Paul... you're going to have to expand your den storage.

I'd not accounted for another boxed razor, but the box will house my VB1 which I can put there, shift that across and pop that one on top of that one ... the rest will squeeze in. One was on the list for this year (the 1914) and the other I had no idea existed until I saw a post about one here ... then noticed one in this mixed bag on eBay.
It just has to turn up now ...

I'm a bit of a sad case ... I have a good number of fencing foils, all of which have names. They're all very much the same, but have very different characters and the names come to me as I use them. Should I go with "Slim Shady" or "Mr Whippy" today? ... yes, the same is happening with razors as I get to know them. My 1912s are starting to get reputations. Another one in the fold will give up his character, even though he's exactly the same as all the others The 1914 is one I am very excited about. I will certainly get a pre-03/24 (24/03 for us Brits) shave with it as practice and report forthwith. With that one now bagged, what next? I am certainly going to have to go after a rarer prey ... pre-1900 would be fantastic! I see those straight edge folks scraping away with something a couple of centuries old and just think how cool it is. Our industrially produced razors are things of beauty, too. Sleep? Well, I'm sorted ... the box (and VB1) will go there, the 1914 take pride of place on top of there this year, alongside the 1924 ... and the new 1912 will squeeze in there. Actually, it won't, it'll go in that Ever Ready box and the GEM Junior that's in there will come up front and squeeze in. Cue a replate in gold. It's where I put the impending Rolls ...

... arrived today!
The razors are really good. The rest is all good, too. One of the Rolls blades has a nick but the other is mint.
