DESCRIBING THE RAZOR
The 1912 Patent Scheuber Safety Razor is a combination of a metal Supporting Frame attached to a Handle by a Threaded Post and having an Upper Frame Portion provided with a Guard-Comb and Blade-Stops, a Blade seated on the Frame, a Cover-Plate pivoted to the supporting Frame by Pintles, and a Lever to aid in holding the Blade engaged by the Cover-Plate.
LOADING THE RAZOR
The Cover-Plate and Lever move in unison under the influence of the Actuating Spring, so as to set the Blade in proper position against the Guard Comb Blade-Stops. The Actuating Spring holds the Cover-Plate, in closed or open position, insuring when closed, the firm locking of the blade, and when open, free access to the blade and to parts for cleaning.
ANATOMY OF A RAZOR is a series of Razor Plates identifying terminology used to describe a specific razor. The terminology is compiled in a Glossary with the Terms and Drawing Plates being those used by the inventor in the original patent application. The purpose is to contribute to a common language for use in the wet shaving and barberiana community.
