Good morning fellas, I'd like help identifying the following razor. I tried to place this in the razor ID form but I was unable to create a thread there. I already tried to find it using The collectors Encyclopedia, but I struck out. I don't know about any of the markings on this razor. I was hoping maybe you could identify it with the shape of the head and the handle. What do you think?

It's on page Gem 8 of Waits Compendium. It's a GEM 1912 patent, appears to be a 1924 model. If it isn't the short head '24 it will be a good moderately aggressive shaver.

Yeah this case style was prevalent in the 1920's. the model can be nailed down looking at adverts from those years. SD probably has it right suggesting in is a Gem. Ye?

I have the same set, it was known as the Triumph, mid 20's production.

The lady was asking too much for it and was "offended" at my offer so I passed on it. How does it shave? Is it worth looking for another set?

It shaves like pretty much all of the various 1912's, which is great!

And don't worry about offending a seller by making an offer. That is their business and some of them play by sucker rules when it comes to pricing.

I have the same set, it was known as the Triumph, mid 20's production. Hey guys....this looks just like my GEM 1912 I got from Alan....only mine has the full height back to the head....Does this Triumph have the full size or short back to the head.....I can't tell from these pics which back this one has.... Mine has the same handle and rounded head, and says Brooklyn ny inside and GEM on the back....even with the full height back is mine a '24 model too? Also mine is in the old red and black cardboard box as opposed to this travel case....and is about as aggressive as my micromatic...I mean that in a good way...lol

Lloyd, mine has the short back and does not have GEM stamped on the outside of the frame, just inside. It also has the round cover plate.

It's identical to this one only has the tall back, and GEM printed on the back...and it is a tad on the aggressive side, when Alan sent it, he said "Keep Spike here on a short leash, he'll bite if you don't watch him...lol" It doesn't really matter which decade, it's a perfect shaver... just curious..

ASR used that handle on the 1912 GEM's and also on the 1924 Ever-Ready's in the mid 20's. Yours just has the full size frame as opposed to the slightly smaller one that they made to fit into the small cases like the Triumph and Cigarette.
