Is there anywhere that I can get some carbon steel injector blades. I already have some PAL Sharp Edge and I much prefer carbon to stainless.
Also I'm in UK and can't find a source for Treet and GEM carbon SE blades. All that's on offer is the stainless blades from Connaught Shaving.

Another US seller, I'm afraid, but Ted Pella do the carbon steel in three facet blade profile: www.tedpella.com/dissect_html/dissect.htm#anchor1623602Alas, we're at the mercy of HM Customs & Excise who like to slap practically the same again on top of any purchase over £15 making this sort of transaction hardly worthwhile.

Yes this is the issue! Those Amazon blades linked in the second post won't ship to UK at all, and the UK listed ones have riduculous shipping charges. Maybe my best bet would be to put an ad in the B/S/T and get them straight from a member in the US. As for the injector blades, maybe they also require a B/S/T ad - I'm sure some members will have some NOS carbon injectors they'd sell or trade

...although, if the total (after HM C&S) was the original price would you buy them?

...although, if the total (after HM C&S) was the original price would you buy them? Well it's the postage though... Ted Pella's UK distributor is Agarscientific and they have carbon steel SEs though they don't mention if they're triple faceted...

Ask them? The profile is important - surgical or shaving.

Greetings I purchased 120 Treet carbon blades from Ebay, the seller was based in the USA and they arrived here and fortunately missed the customs man, they were still more expensive then The Stainless Coated blades from Connaughts. This seller (or any other) no longer has any for sale. I obtained 120 Gem Blue Star carbon blades by getting a friend in the States to purchase them from Amazon.com and then ship them to me, it cost him 18 dollars and 26 cents for the postage (I have just looked at the label) So for SE carbon blades at present the only source for UK residents is Amazon.com via somebody living in the USA. Quite irrespective of how many facets other carbon SE blades may have they are all made for industrial or lab. use. The only exception being PAL Carbon and some other U.S. in house Chemist brands which are in any case made by Personna/GEM or Dorco and are unobtainable in the UK. No manufacturer anywhere at all make modern carbon injector blades designed for shaving, this does not mean however that perhaps some of the blades sold by the medical/lab supply houses for use in microtomes could not be used for shaving but I have never tried any. These pictures show the Treet and Gem Blue Star blades you can see by comparing the packaging that they are from the same factory, the only difference in the packaging is the name of the blades! Many people think (with very good cause) they are the same blade, I am unsure, they certainly seem to shave about the same.
