Sometimes, you just find a gem on eBay. Actually, I've found a few GEMs, but this is a real gem ... and the seller made is extra special for me. Bought yesterday for £6.50 plus £3.00 P&P I was contacted around 3 o'clock to say that it had been put in the post and would hopefully arrive today. Well, it did .. Above and beyond an absolute steal for the razor itself, what a fantastic amount of personal care taken with the packaging: Let's peel the wrapping off and see what we've got ... a monolith! ... within which, the razor itself: Box in good order and the razor looks promising: Instructions, guarantee, list of Agents and so on ... Strop and hone in reasonable nick, the blade, too: Close-up on the hone which looks like board, rather than leather: ... and the blade, which appears nick-free and will no doubt hone up and strop well: Best Sheffield Steel! As a Yorkshireman, that makes me very proud: So, pretty much ready to use. I'll give the handle and blade a once over cleaning, water the hone, oil the strop and give it a whirl in due course ...

Nice one Paul! It's the Rolls Razor Renaissance Interesting that you have the composite strop too. I was wondering if lapping the case hone with 800 w/d might up its cutting power. And see how you get on with that light aluminium Viscount handle...

Very nice Rolls. I love these classic mechanical beauties.
