If anything, the crustiness would give extra grip So long as the cap is without issue and inside where the blade sits is fine, it's a shaver in my book. I rather like the plastic tip. Mechanically sound, too. At first, once twisted open the cap didn't want to ping open but after a good soak it's just fine. Very cheap, even from oversees, so a gamble of sorts but it paid off. Now, your Valet. I have a VC1 from a Model C set (well, I have two, but who's counting?) and shaved with it for the patent anniversary (April 9th, was it?). Anyway, yes, good shave but I also recall thinking, "Ho-hum! Nothing special" ... and then shaved with my British Made VB1 the other day, giving me a superb experience. I know we've talked about these tiny and subtle differences and how it all might just be in our minds, but that's how it played out for me ... perhaps keep 'em peeled for some magical British metal?

I have always thought that the plastic tip Flying Wing made it extra unique. Speaking of the different type of Bullet Tips mine is also a bit unique. I have an older model that is what I call the blind eye version. My Bullet Tip is an older model that does not have the "eye." In the first picture the razor looks like the gold tone type but it's actually a chrome finish. I've always wondered if the case is the right one.

Flicking through Waits, the case is shown with a Clog-Pruf. The Bullet Tips have the same base orientation for the razor and blade case but have plastic tops. Being an earlier (non-guiding eye) variant, it is quite possible that it shared the same case as the Clog-Pruf. Both of mine are "blind eye" ... The caps on both of mine appear to be plated differently to the base plate and handles, both of which are a little crusty. Chrome capped, nickel otherwise?

Out of the Micromatic line the Clog-Pruf is my least favorite. No matter how many times I have used the Cloggy it's just an uncomfortable razor. How do you like your Gillette Twinjector so far? It looked like it needed quite a cleaning. The Twinjector is a good all around injector it's a shame that not much is talked about it. Have you used it with single blades? What Schick model would you compare the Twinjector with?

The Twinjector is somewhere over the Atlantic, I hope ... yet to arrive.

I'm just going to follow on here, since I seem to have chunks of GEM & ER history arriving almost daily ... Today, a nicely presented ER 1914 (Patented) but with knurled handle and sprung blade captors. Boxed, with two 12 blade cases and a fun motto under the ER logo: "COUNT THE 12 BLADES" ... GO ON! COUNT THEM!!! But, two lots of 12 blades is 24, innit? "REVISE MOTTO TO 24 BLADES" Sweet little razor, this.

You know ... I'm starting to get horrible disappointments when I get home and there's no vintage metal in a padded envelope for me to open, polish and enjoy.
I have problems. I do!

Dios mio! It cleaned up very nicely it's almost as snazzy as mine (yes, I did say snazzy). Now it's time for you to give us a shave report about the Twinjector. Is that a Damaskeene I see behind the case? Oops, my mistake that's the blade cartridge.

Shut it, 'Peerless'-less!
Yeah, old blade still in ... someone else's whiskers ... urgh! Popped open, scrubbed out it's good to go now. Just the one new blade in the dispenser. I'm going to run it with a vintage Gillette Platinum Plus first and save the twin 'til later.
