I couldn't help but notice that AV Ice Blue didn't have it's own thread.....I was like, What?!!! So here's one for the Boss....
So what do you cats think of The Velva Classic, Ice Blue ?

I guess I came along at a time when Aqua Velva was kind of the soundtrack of the Shaving Era....ha, ha.... But I ;like my Pop; settled on Old Spice and haven't looked back since 1970.... Well I can't help but notice that Aqua Velva Classic Ice Blue's presence is still on the shelves and all over the SOTD threads everywhere.....So the other day I took the cap off a bottle at Walgreens and put a little on the back of my hand to check it out.....instant time machine....ha,ha.....I dug it......But then I walk over by my wife and shes like,....whats that fragrance?....I like that !!.....So I copped the bottle... Next shave was my first real splash of it after a shave...I'm thinking it smelled a little strong, but I couldn't stop rubbing my face...It felt fantastic, what a great menthol and skin tightening feeling...., and my wife walks up and says, wow, that smells great, so refreshing and subtle...I said, subtle ?....and she said, "Very nice, not over the top but cool.".....So I asked her if it reminded her of anything, expecting her to say maybe her grand father....but she says no, She thought it was a modern scent...ha, ha...So there you go....Aqua Velva is timeless..... Well today, I grabbed a great shave with my 1914 and finished with the Ice Blue, and again what a wonderful feeling....Then freshly splashed as my wife and I jumped in the car....she says, "Wow, I just love this aftershave, I just love it...!"..... So there it is......no way to mistake the signals.......great feeling.....cool, refreshing....skin tightening......and chicks still dig it, but then they always have it seems.....ha, ha...So with such a great experience with the Velva I just had to share it....and praise this Classic, it's earned it.... So thats my story and I'm sticking to it......Whats yours?

I love Aqua Velva, use it a couple times a month.Old Spice is still numero uno, but I still like to use AV and Mennen Skin Bracer occasionally.

I just got introduced to it in the last month, or so ...
For a cooling splash, I love it. The scent is a decent mix and absolutely pleasant, much the effect of Brut but cooling also.
I think I'll be the splash I take on holiday, along with my (Shock! Horror!) Gillette Guard.

This is my primary after shave for Summer. Velva's menthol kick in the hot Summer days is great wake me up. I hate to wear it all the time since the womenz can't stop hounding me around. Everyone wonders how I am such a babe magnet but little do they know the secret is Aqua Velva.

How do you guys compare AV with Pinauld Clubman? I've also been thinking of try that one aswell....

Clubman has what people describe as a barber shop scent. Clubman has a fresh talc powder scent (the best I can describe it). I find that Clubman is quite similar to Brut though I am sure some will disagree. Clubman's scent is a bit louder and Brut has a dab of a vanilla note. When I splash on Clubman it is strong at first but subsides quickly and it lasts 2 or 3 hours and then I can't smell it at all.
I like the scent of Clubman more then AV but I find that Aqua Velva doesn't dry out the skin as Clubman does and it has the menthol cooling sensation. I have not tried Canoe but I understand some people think Canoe is also similar to Clubman.

I'd put Aqua Velva closer to Brut, what with its complex of florals and herbs, yet much more cooling. Clubman, to my nose, is more moss and powder. I'm very in tune with mosses, so that tends to be all I can smell when I happen upon a mossy splash.

This is still part of my signature shave!! It just does not get better then the AV ice blue. I often get remarks on my after shaves when I am out and about. The Ice Blue and Brut and Clubman get the most attention.

A warning to all happily married men...If you do a full splash of Ice Blue followed by a half splash of AV Musk. You will have to walk around with straight pins in your mouth to keep all the womans from kissing you...
