Not to muddy the waters but I'm curious. Best shave.net has Perma Sharp SE blades that are made in Russia 1,000 for $99 shipped. I've had good luck with both Russian made blades in DE and with Bestshave.net in the past. That would be, like, 7,000 shaves! LOL The price seems good. But I'd be more comfortable ordering that many if anyone here had tried them and liked them. IF anyone's tried them and had a positive experience I'd be willing to go in on an order if there was any interest. ???javascript:add(%22%20???%22) Any thoughts? shop.bestshave.net/1000-permasharp-single-edge-razor-blades-p-74.htmlJohn

I think they are half-DE blades for barber straights. See the video on their site for installing blades into a straight. yfrog.com/2dfilmgzI've bought lots of stuff from Bestshave and you can't beat their prices, but I would be wary of these. You could email them a picture of a standard GEM blade and ask them to confirm that their blades are compatible.

Yep,

You get a gold star for effort though.

You get a gold star for effort though. Yeah absolutely - perhaps 2 gold stars. Keep your eyes peeled as it would be great to come up with SEs manufactured outside of ASR and Feather.

...I've had good luck with both Russian made blades... Same here. I would definitely try a real single-edge blade from St. Petersburg.

Does Feather make standard SE blades or just the ones for Autostrops? I believe they are made to fit most single-edge razors, but someone here mentioned the lack of a "spine" causes issues with some razors.
