Anyone out there in TOST land into ebooks and/or tablet computers?
I love to read, especially in the "Throne Room". Only problem that I have found is that when I am done with a book I end up putting it on a pile and it just gathers dust for perpetuity. That is until I get enough of them to take to the local library so they can use them to make some cash during their used book sale.
In July I was visiting my daughter and she had purchased an Amazon Kindle. She reads much more than me so I thought the Kindle was great for her.
Then in November I was able to get a really great deal on a Kindle Touch from Staples. Between a ton of Staples Reward points and a surprise rebate I got the thing for $25.
So now that I have it I have become addicted to using it. Carry it with me in my murse everywhere I go.
I am reading more and even have ebook subscriptions to a couple magazines that I used get print editions of. This thing has been great.
Just wanted to know if any of you use ebook readers or have gone the route of getting one of the tablet computers (iPads or Android OS)? I am interested to know what kind you have and how you use them.

I find these kind of things to be really intriguing. I have yet to make the jump to one, but am happy to see you were able to get into it for such a reasonable price.
Looking forward to comments on this - as I too enjoy a good read in the 'throne room'!!

I was given an iPad-2 as a gift during the holidays. I really haven't fooled with it yet, been busy. I'm hoping to start using it in the next couple of weeks. My wife has a Kindle and loves it.

My wife got a kindle fire for christmas and I got a kindle amazon (mine's rather low end). However, I find that the battery on mine will last for weeks where as her eats batteries for lunch. I'm reading 5X what I used to and love it.
I really like how you can d/l so many books for free and current ones you get cheaper than a "paper book". I really thought I'd miss the feel of a "real book" but have found that the Kindle grew on me real quick.

I was asking HT about BBQ and he recommended a good BBQ book to me and low and behold, it's available on my Kindle. So, I d/l it for less than it would have cost to buy the paper version and it's gonna be nice to take my Kindle to the store when I need to buy ingredients for rubs, sauces etc. How cool?

I am a Kindle guy myself, just plain love them. I will always love and actually prefer real books (particulary the smell and feel of them) but the Kindle is really handy, a ton of books can be loaded up on it and reading on them is great. I find it much more comfortable then staring at a typical computer screen. We are considering an iPad but I don't think it will be used much for reading ebooks...
