Went to go for shave #8 but noticed that the blade wasn't blue anymore...It wasn't discolored either...It was shiney silver looking...
But I'm thinking, this one deserves to take it easy in the blade bank....What a WARRIOR....7 great shaves, not a tug!
Now I'm interested to see if the next one will be as good as this one...or was this one a fluke....}8^D

Hello All, disclaimer I am still a newbie on GEM,E-R SE shavig.. I dont have a ton of experience. I started using DEs last September and after a life time of multi blade pivot disposable razors it took a while to develop the zero pressure touch, once the DE was was mastered I collected many injectors and mastered them.. During this time I was buying Gem and er razors whenever i saw a good deal.. these old razors scared me and i am glad i waited and mastered the de and injectors 1st! i am now on my 2nd week with gem's..1912 was instant success with zero blood or irritation. the 1914 mini lather catcher, has given me the shave of a life time! and it was the 2nd shave ever with the 1914... i used a NEW PAL blade, i ordered 30 from amazon and the arrived yesterday. what an amazing combo, sounded and felt like buttering toast!! very aggressive but no blood and so easy to use. the PAL blade was sharp and i could feel it digging into my skin, but oddly was not irritating or cutting me. i was bbs for almost 8 hours!!!! PAL blades!!! i am ordering another 30. i pray they stay in production

Or are you going for just so many shaves then change the blade?

Well I have always been a 4 shave max and toss the blade or disposable razor. But when I spend big money on NOS blades like Personna 74 I will use em till the end. with the PAL blues i will probably toss em after 3 shaves. 30 blades for 12 bucks aint bad

I use them until they tell me it is time to go. But I understand the set use rule too.

I use CVS blades and find them to be quite nice. Usually get 5-6 shave out of one but that's ok. They are not expensive and easy to find where I live.
I think if you try them, you'll like them

Buttercup? ....you killing me ovah hee yah! I just read some reviews on-line...folks are sayin the CVS SE blades are GEM or Personna carbons....Sounds to me like you cats are in for a treat....no pun intended! I got a despenser of the CVS Injector blades a while back and they were the same as EMS/Personna...Which I have always dug... Speaking of EMS/Personna Injector blades....I just popped one in my F type and got a fabulous shave..quite a great combo...This razor is one of the Schicks that truely loves the Personna Blades....Opps...sorry for the hijack.....carry on....
