Super little knot from shaving.ie with a girth of 21mm and destined for a lovely Art Deco handle ... but first ... Customised Valet handle In the Art Deco handle In the Art Deco handle ... with the Muhle 33K256 Silvertip Fibre brush for comparison In the Art Deco handle ... alongside another lovely Deco-esque handle Dead easy to use ... just measure up the screw and drill exactly that diameter into your brush handle, screw in, done. That's all ...

Cheers! Yeah, I'm just waiting on a PurTech to arrive to go in that ... I've test-fitted a dog bitten knot and it looks good. For fun, I dropped this Muhle knot in just to see, but I like it best in the Art Deco handle. The Valet looked like this: Drilling out the old knot, the bit slipped just a fraction as the very centre of the knot was not solid like most, resulting in some cracking around the edge of the hole. I had to file it down and so, took it down about 4mm. It'll look just right with the knot going in.

You sure did a good job, it looks new now. Oh lord, now I want to look for a Valet shaving brush! This is not going to be good for my wallet. Good going on the Muhle Silvertip Fibre. I don't know if you own an Edwin Jagger synthetic, I heard that they are top of the game for synthetics.

From what I understand, Edwin Jagger use Muhle's knots, but are perhaps set slightly different. I do have a Muhle Silvertip Fibre in 23mm and yes, it's good. Very good.
This Valet handle looks to be the same shape as vintage ones sold by Boots (a large Chemist chain in the UK) and I have seen the same shape on vintage Kent handles - I would suspect Kent made them and rebranded for razor manufacturers, Chemists and so on ...
The knot wasn't quite clicked in fully in the pictures because I was still playing around, trying it in various projects - rather than simply being hair in a glue puck, these knots are further set into a plastic collar with a screw thread beneath, designed to screw straight into their fancier looking handles. I drilled out the Art Deco handle just right to push and click firmly into place.
