Have just been trying an SE Blade new to me, having been using GEM PTFE coated blades from Connaughts. I was quite looking forward to trying these Blades, kindly given to me my Norfolkdick. First up was the Treet C.S blade.
The First outing was in a G-Bar, as I had found it good for breaking in a blade. Shaving experience felt quite smooth, aided by good lather from MWF. Results were not so good, finish was very poor.
Tried again this morning with OCMM. Shave very rough, indeed harsh. Despite taking longer than usual, I was left with stubble on various parts of the Face. I am wondering if i have a duff blade. So tomorrow will use a fresh blade , in order to give it a fair go.
What do other users think of the Treet blade, in comparison with the Gem coated blade ?

I find them rough and harsh in aggressive razors but ok in mild razors: GEM Push Button, Contour II, BuLLet Tip. They actually work pretty well in the Bullet Tip-- I'm not a fan of the BT while using the PTFE blades.

Yeah if you see my SE carbon blade shave off thread you'll see that Treets did not shine for me either: theoriginalsafetytoo.proboards.com/post/22116/thread/1772I love carbon steel blades but on their first shave the Treet was unremarkable, it had deteriorated on its second shave and was done on its third. Meh!

Treats don't do it for me. I don't know that I ever finished a shave with one.
I love carbon blades, but they tug too much for me.

I've tried the Treet's and just couldn't like them. Rough and tuggy, not a nice shave. And yet, I like the carbon steel blades from CVS drugstores. Go figure

I've actually come to like the CVS blades quite a bit. They are my only option when I make a trip that involves flying, since I don't like to deal with checked baggage. No matter where I am, it seems that I always pass a CVS drugstore between the airport and my hotel.
They are indeed a little rough on the first shave, but nothing like a stainless steel blade in that respect. My travel razor is an Ever-Ready 1924 mated to a Merkur travel razor handle.
I have a couple of packs of the Treet blades that I picked up on Amazon. I've used one of them once. They simply aren't very sharp.
I wonder what the maids do with all the single edge blades I've left in hotel rooms.

Hi All, Done as suggested, and moved blade onto BTMM. Tried to shave upper lip, a NO NO. Then 2 strokes on Cheek. Quick decision, abort use of this Blade. IMHO, if these were the only SE blade available at the time I decided to give it a try, i would have quickly reverted to another form of Shaving.
Reloaded with another blade, new to me- Gem Blue Star Super. Well , what a difference. A very smooth and comfortable shave, with quite a good close finish. Now, looking forward to trialling this blade, and enjoying shaving.

I've gotton remarkable shaves wit the Treet Supers......Maybe it's a vintage or which year kind of thing...I haven't tried one in quite a while though, but my memories are fond ones.

I was sent a pack not too long ago and I actually thought that they were fairly good. I removed each one from the plastic dispenser and made sure each got some mineral oil to keep invisible rust away. I used one again approx. a month ago and it was still pretty good. Using a fresh Treet the other day it wasn't a good shave in the Featherweight.
