Here is my newest shaving brush. One could be forgiven for mistaking it for a vintage Ever-Ready, at least at first glance. However, this is the latest offering from Fine Accoutrements. These had previously been offered in various grades of badger, but now are available in something called "Angel Hair," which is rumored to be the same fibers used in the synthetic Plisson brushes. It certainly looks and feels like a Plisson knot. It is the same height but slightly smaller in diameter; 20 mm vs 22 mm. It has the same silky soft feel of the Plisson, with just a touch more backbone, which may please a lot of people. From left: A Plisson, the L'Occitane Plisson, the Fine, and a Grooming Co. brush. The Grooming Co. brush is larger in diameter (25 mm) and has considerably more backbone than the Plissons, which creates some springiness. The Fine brush falls between the Plissons and the GC, but is closer to the Plissons. I didn't mind the springiness in the GC brush, but I don't like the diminutive handle. The handle on the Fine is pretty close to perfect, not to mention looking incredibly cool in a retro sort of way. How does it lather? Just like a Plisson - 'nuff said. I saved the best part for last. You can have one of these of your own for a mere $20 US (plus shipping). That's right, 33% cheaper than the L'Occitane (if you can find one). A Fine brush, indeed. --Bob

That is a nice brush!
I got a box of six from India for literally nothing, same handle but the knots were horrible and fell straight out. I re-knotted with a load of badgers and sold 'em on.
$20 fits under the radar for tax and handling coming into the EU, so with postage it'll be about the same as a L'Occitane, but to be frank, I prefer the handle. You don't get a free glass of bubbly, but hey ... you can't have everything.

Huh! Denied ...
There's something wrong with their checkout as it requires a method of payment, even though method of payment is selected and not re-selectable.
Oh well ...

Odd. I would shoot Todd (aka "Mr. Fine") an email at Mr.Fine@FineAccoutrements.com. I'm sure he can work something out.
