I don't have the actual date floating around my head, but it's probably something like 8 months away, give or take a few. But the owner of the plant that makes Personna, GEM, and whatever other blades, is trying to either sell the facility or close it. Obviously they'd prefer to sell it. Obviously we'd also prefer they sell it and keep production going.
Just letting you know of the possibility of a cut off of newly made SE blades from that source. Do what you need to do.
I had enough blades for any foreseen use, but I bought another 400 just for kicks. My heirs may fight over my "blade fortune".
Wedge blades may come back into vogue.

I heard that too. Since I've gone almost exclusively injectors, I ordered 500 of them. With what I have on hand I reckon it'll be about 11 years before they're gone. AND my wife thought it was a great idea to do this. Am I lucky or what?

Nah! It's just batteries and blades going separate ways ... absolutely nothing in any of the detail about closing or terminating product lines.

Thank you for stopping a heart attack, Paul. Or at least giving us support, for burying our heads in the sand, LOL! i'm gonna stockpile anyway....I've already squirreled enough injector blades to probably last my duration, but to think of going through my Senior Years with out a GEM Stainless blade in any of my SE razors....thats not an option.... I'm thinking....I better get a good physical so I can estimate how many shaves I have left and stockpile double....Just incase, life plays a cruel joke, and I end up living longer than expected and the blades run out.....ha,ha....

Valid point, birdlives. I'm 45 now. Unless the wife kills me for ungermanic behaviour, I might live to see my 73rd birthday according to the same statisticians who believe Greece ought to remain the Euro zone. 28 years, roughly 10k shaves. I need 2k blades. ASAPissime.

Who indeed? And that is just the cream of the crop. Seriously, though, if SE blades became unavailable without prior notice, life would never be the same again.

That's the spirit, Bob! Ditto also...there's such lovely lather catchers to pick from that use wedge blades that we can hone...makes getting the complete set of wedges sound very attractive....
