I considered using my E2 injector on my 2-days of growth but decided against it. The OCMM rewarded me with a 2-pass + touchup BBS.

Thursday morning:
Vitos SIS $.50 Chinese boar brush OCMM Gem SS ptfe (9) bay rum
"Things" have conspired to keep me away from the OCMM for quite some time. Todays use of it reminded me of just how good a shave this razor produces.
What a fantastic shave! The entire experience!

NOS Gem Featherwight* w/ PTFE coated Gem Thater Plexi 4 RazoRock 888 Shave Soap Speick ASL
*It was NOS, and it ain't no more. The reason I wanted to sell it was because I thought I wouldn't like the light handle. Something really weird happened yesterday and I pulled a 180 and thought that maybe the lightness of the handle might be a reason why I WOULD like it (all my other Gems currently in rotation are all metal and therefore substantial). So I am glad I am holding onto it, I think we are going to come to like each other; especially if this first shave was any indication of the future.

Good man Nate. I am a fan of lighter razors. Seems to me a good shave is more about technique then most think. The weight of the razor does not dictate a good shave.

I look at all of my metal Gems, take the OCMM for instance, as sturdy bulldozers.
Yesterday, I thought "Isn't it time for a sports car?" Something that I can go "Zippity-doo-daa" with, if I wanted to. I am not regretting it at all.
I have never really minded a light razor. I could always get equally good shaves from both, it was just that I "preferred" the heavier handles. Something just felt lost with them.
Over time I have begun look at all my different things on my shelf and think of each one as a unique item that has its own way at which it performs its best. I change how I use things[/u] to fit my shave, instead of changing the things I use to fit my shaving. I have come to really appreciate the "Fun-ness" in this aspect. About 3 years ago, it was all about buying A WHOLE BUNCH OF STUFF because I wanted to try it all in search of that perfect shave. Now, my tastes have refined, and I feel that I can go to my shelf, reach for whatever strikes me at the moment, and get exactly the kind of shave that I want. That is the fun part as I see it; since not all of my shaving stuff is the SAME, I can change my process, custom tailor it to whatever I happen to be using, and get the SAME great shave if I were using anything else.

Friday morning:
Vitos SIS Semogue 1438 boar Valet AS VC1 Feather SE blade (9) bay rum
At this point I'm wondering who's going to run out first, me or the Vitos. I used it in rotation for at least 6-8 months and for the past 2 months I've been using it every day. I don't think it's even 1/2 gone. It's like the soap that shaved the multitudes. (Yes, I know there was no such thing.) At this rate I'll be using it for another 3 months to get rid of it.
The Feather is also going and going and going, but it's no longer the blade I installed. I hope to get another shave out of it, but I intend to see just how far I can push it.

- Prep: Hot Shower and Hot Towel
- Cream: SCS Smoke and Beads
- Brush: C&E BBB
- Razor: '48 Eversharp-Schick Injector
- Blade: Ted Pella PTFE coated injector (shave 4)
- A/S: Thayer's Lavender Witch Hazel Toner
- EDT: SCS Smoke and Beads
- Result: The last of the Smoke and Beads used today. Have not been getting great lather with this brand of SC for the last year or so. Too thin. Just can't get it to work. So I am not replacing it. Got an okay shave today, not the best and not the worst. Just lousy lather.

1912 Gem Junior Gem SS/PFTE Blade (13) Burma-Shave Boar Brush Vintage Colgate Mug Soap Vi-Jon Ivy Club Spice
I used the vintage Colgate from Andy again this morning. I really like this stuff; I've rarely found any soap or cream lather quite as slick as that produced by the Colgate. I've got to find myself some soon - this puck won't hold out forever!
